Slow and useless staff. And update a year after: I scheduled the appointment and less than a day before these morons call and say: „Sorry - we can’t take you. We are actually all booked for tomorrow. I am just wondering how these people there…”.

Had a eye exam for the DMV done here today. The experience was ok. Doctor johnny was great and explained everything. Prices are not clearly explained. Was told over the phone eye exams cost about 80 dollars. Then told 35 dollars. Not complaining. But then had to get glasses which with exam came to 180 dollars. I came in expecting to spend 80 and had to spend double. Frames prices are not organized I was looking for frames and in the section for 70 dollars were frames for 200 plus. The staff are great. Appearance wise I was not impressed. Everyone just in their normal everyday clothes no name tags no uniforms. Felt very unprofessional. Again everyone was great just didn't seem like a business or doctors office.

So it has been 2 days and now that I am a little calmer, I would like to share my experience. Now, I have gone to many eye doctors in my lifetime. I understand upselling and trying to get me to spend more money. I do not have a problem with that. It's part of the job. It's retail. This was just them trying to rip me off and belittle me.First off, the doctor was great. Good bedside manners, she made me feel very comfortable. She was perfect. ( I wish I remembered her name, but I am still so upset that I've forgotten it!)When I was first taken back for the exam, the receptionist asked me the normal questions and I explained- and even SIGNED A PAPER stating I had no money and would NOT be getting glasses, contacts, or any type of procedure that wasn't covered by my insurance, as I had no other money at the moment. It was embarrassing to have to discuss this dilemma in any fashionA minute later the Doctor came in and did the exam. He then turned the lights on and handed me a pair of contacts and said but these on. At this point, I assumed they were a sample. In fact I believe everytime I got my eyes checked I was given a free pair of contacts. He then handed me another three pairs of lenses. I was so thankful I must have said "thank you!" a hundred times. He just smiled and left. I then went upfront to check out.Upon doing so, the receptionist informs me that I owe $50. I said "How is that possible?". Her reply " For the contact fitting". I explained how I informed the other lady that I was not going to be making a purchase today and that I even signed a page saying this. She explained to me again that I owed $50 for a CONTACT FITTING. I say again I explained this to the other lady and AGAIN, SIGNED A PAPER SAYING THIS. She asks me to sit back down. Now I sat there for another 15-20 minutes. 10 feet away from her and her desk. At no time did she call anyone. She didn't send an email. All she did was discuss a concert at the Fillmore and what time you would need to arrive to be at the stage right up front. After she finished this discussion. She calls me back up to tell me that the 5 contacts I had in my hand ( Remember: the Doctor had given me a pair that was in a box and 3 individual lenses that where loose) would need to be returned because she could not allow me to leave the store because I could not pay the $50. I said "OK" . Give her the contacts said "Have a good night" and left.I swear the fact I held my composure and did not raise my voice as all this was going on blows my mind. First of all, how are they trying to charge me $50 for a contact fitting. All the Doctor did was turn the light on and hand me contacts and tell me to put them in. That's a fitting? Second, what was the point of signing a paper saying I opt-out and STILL try to charge me. Come on now!!! Is this a joke. There is no way the Doctor is unaware of this form. I assume the form is there for a reason. I bet it's not the hand me contacts . Tell me to put them in. Then send me to check out and charge me for a fitting. That to me is the best part. I wasn't getting a tuxedo. What exactly does that even mean? Third and final thing, why was I asked to sit and wait 15-20 minutes after being told I owed $50. I thought she was going to call the Doctor or her superior to find out what to do. That did not happen she didn't do anything except discuss her social life. Actually one final thing. There where 5 contacts lenses. Why 5? That's right because they where free. The Doctor was being nice. Because like I just said the bill was for a fitting. Not the contacts. Not only did I have to explain my finances to a complete stranger . Not once but twice. Then having the Doctor be so kind. To be honest I though she overheard me explaining that I was unable to purchase anything. Maybe that is just what I wanted to believe. I do not know. All I do know is I will never return to Visionworks. Also, they need to reevaluate there staff and who should and should not be in cus

Greeted upon arrival, asked how they could assist me. I was promptly directed to a desk & seat where I could explain what I needed. My order for new lenses was taken along with my own frames for my new prescription. My billing/insurance, contact details were recorded and I was given my receipt and on my way in 20 minutes.

Came here today to pick up a copy of my glasses prescription. Not a very welcoming vibe at the reception area. The past couple of visits I feel like the receptionist aren’t in a good mood & you feel like you are bothering them when you ask questions. Usually the doctors are nice and appointments go smoothly. This location used to be friendly and welcoming, now not so much.I want to add that I was the only person in there. So I’m not sure why I felt like they just wanted the whole interaction to be over with.
