I just started going there with my friend. The front desk staff, and instructors/trainers are very friendly. Overall, the place is kept clean. Maybe one thing that needs improvement is the lockers/bathrooms downstairs. Many of the lockers don’t have a functioning locking mechanism, so very few lockers actually work when you put your lock on. Bathroom also smells like feet.
Anyway, away from that, I think it’s a great place, nice people, lots of group exercises, gym equipment, and the fact that people can use their Medicaid to get free membership is just amazing.

It's really small, and there's only street parking. Some of the equipment like small dumbbells and mats are peeling. Also the mats are really thin, and are not conducive to a comfortable floor workout. The staff members are really nice though.

Adequate equipment eventhough the space is small. Pool hours are weird for family swim, facilities are fairly clean. Always room for improvement. I overall like this Y

I’ve been going here on and off for about two years now all I can say is I feel like I’m bonding with the elderly who participate in the workout and dance classes I am so inspired by their dedication and endurance The instructors are amazing and very supportive. I love going to the pool. My only suggestion is they open up two lanes instead of one when it’s family swim because it’s usually not enough room and that the registration process for summer camp and after school be a little more responsive because I’ve been trying to get my son into the program for a long time. His school is nearby and it makes no sense that I got the runaround and I’m a member of this gym. We should’ve gotten priority for a spot.

I am a stroke survivor and go here and sometimes when I swim in the lane, I drift sometimes and a man came up on, assaulted me in the pool and the lifeguard did nothing about it
Oh, he told him he couldn’t shove people, but that’s it. He literally let this man go on swimming in the pool after assaulting me the least safe Ymca you can go to go anywhere else if possible.

Disclaimer: I was a member at this YMCA location for several months, starting in May 2023.
While I’m sure this gym suits the fitness needs of many members, I can’t recommend it for anyone interested in powerlifting and training with barbells. The weight room is small, and it crowds easily. It focuses primarily on machines.
I also had multiple negative experiences with one staff member in particular: Leigha Coates. I was double charged for my first month of membership, and a different helpful staffer at the front desk (Dawn Minor) directed me to contact Leigha to resolve the issue. I reached out to her several times over both phone and email, but my messages were never returned. I ultimately had to file a chargeback with my credit card company to get my money back.
A few months later, Leigha then confronted me in a public way in the weight room while I was doing deadlifts. She claimed I was “dropping the weights” and “disturbing other members”, when I was simply performing the exercise with proper form and technique. I was not “dropping the weights” in any fashion: instead, lowering them in a controlled manner back to the floor with each rep.
She then tried to lecture on me on how the descent of the deadlift should involve gingerly lowering the weight as slowly as possible…as someone with over a decade of powerlifting experience, this is horrid advice that not only leads to lower back injury: but also contradicts the instruction taught to me by every strength and conditioning trainer with whom I’ve worked.
Since this was my first time meeting her, I took the opportunity to flag the missed phone and email messages from my double-charge situation. She failed to take accountability for the mishap, instead claiming that Dawn was the right person to speak to for resolving the issue.
Her unprofessional attitude was the nail in the coffin. I canceled my membership a few weeks later and haven’t looked back since.

I have heard many great things about this ymca . But my experience has been awful I have been going back and fourth with two Directors of swimming for private lessons for my daughter. I paid for this lesson. ($175) But NO ONE HAS RETURNED A EMAIL OR CALL . When you call they tell you how busy the Directors are and promise they will call you back. They never do. QUICK TO TAKE YOUR MONEY BUT NO HELP AFTER. I WORK HARD FOR MY MONEY THIS IS NOT RIGHT AT THIS POINT IM TRIED OF CALLING AND SENDING EMAILS .DO BETTER WITH Communications with customers . Now I have to file a dispute with my bank . I have to going through this for a month and it’s ridiculous and unfair. This was just wrong one so many levels . Now my child is disappointed and I still have to find her private swim classes thanks for wasting my time disappointing my child and making this the worst experience ever and now I have to fight to get a refund!!!!
