One section is a sports and family area with lots of green space, a large fun-filled playground, a spray park with timed water spouts for cooling off, and facilities including softball fields, basketball courts, and state-of-the-art tennis courts. It is a great place for a family picnic. The second section is the original site of the Mellon family mansion, home to beautiful green hillsides and historic mansions that now house cultural centers. This friendly, tranquil, and relaxing space features several gardens, including the historic Walled Garden with a beautiful water fountain, as well as Herb and Rose gardens. Following the many paths reveals hidden gems and pleasures. It is a perfect venue for cultural arts and weddings, and a stunning location for photographs with a variety of backdrops. Although surrounded by business and traffic, the park is a convenient and surprisingly relaxing oasis. It hosts events like A Fair in the Park with a variety of enthusiastic vendors.
