Groceria Merante is a family-run Italian grocery store that has been serving the neighborhood for over 45 years. It is known as the best Italian store, with incredibly friendly, kind, helpful, and welcoming staff. The store offers a surprisingly large selection, including great ingredients, fresh produce, seasonal fruits and vegetables, a deli with Boars Head products, pasta, sauces, hot and cold prepared foods, and general grocery items. Customers love the delicious meatballs and sauce, fried hot peppers, and Italian subs. The store has great prices and a great variety, though some items have purchase limits. I had a spicy Italian sandwich from this store today it was excellent and I had two canoli's and man they were good I'm sure I'll be back whenever I'm in the area!

When I lived in oakland I popped in for groceries every once and a while. For the size of the store they have an excellent selection; high quality deli meats, pastas, oils, vinegars, and fresh produce. Everything’s reasonably priced too
