The Sampson Family YMCA is a well-regarded center for healthy living in the east of Pittsburgh, offering a variety of programs and facilities. It features both indoor and outdoor lap and recreation pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, unlimited group exercise classes, and a cycling studio. The YMCA also provides youth development programs, including an on-site daycare center, Summer Day Camps, before and after school care, and youth sports programs. While the pool experience has some drawbacks, such as a reservation system and mandatory lifeguard breaks, many visitors appreciate the friendly and helpful staff. The aquatic programs, particularly water aerobics classes, receive high praise for their effectiveness in aiding recovery from injuries and managing conditions like arthritis. Long-term members value the consistency of staff and the cleanliness of the facility. However, there are suggestions for improvement in customer service, especially regarding membership offers for potential new members. Overall, the Sampson Family YMCA is seen as a welcoming and supportive community hub for fitness and youth activities.
Facility is clean. Pool is crowded. Front desk really not helpful.

A good Y to swim at with a pool that is usually open during normal operating hours. Also open on Sunday’s unlike other Y’s. A little pricey for an an adult membership, but worth it, they have good equipment and keep it clean.

Pool is meh... Their lap system is weird. You have to make a reservation for a lane and they make you get out every hour for lifeguard breaks. Not for serious swimming.
