Smithfield News is a popular convenience store in the Pittsburgh area, known for its wide selection and friendly staff. Despite occasional overcrowding and issues with loitering, the store maintains a clean and well-maintained environment, with regular cleaning and mopping. While the store accepts various payment methods, including EBT cards, there have been some concerns raised about potential illegal practices related to tax charges. Overall, Smithfield News is considered a local landmark, offering a vast array of convenience items and a delicious made-to-order hot food menu, catering to the diverse needs of the community.
You will be harassed by downtowns homeless population and a few drug addicts on your way in and out of the store. More so at night.

I shop here regularly. Sometimes it's a bit crowded, inside and out .. especially outside. It's a hangout for homeless. There are signs stating "no loitering" but they really don't enforce it. They take all types of payment, and unlike other reviews I have read, the staff is very friendly to everyone.

Very good store. A lot of sodas and helpful people that work there.
