The previous store was dark, dank, depressing, and extremely overpriced, with shelves that were rarely stocked. Now? It is beautiful, bright, clean, fully updated with great machines, and the shelves are always fully stocked. The prices have been greatly reduced, and they have an excellent selection of products, including a fantastic tobacco variety for all types of smokers. More than anything, the new owner is just a beloved, honest, and truly joyful person who has brought so much light into our community. He is always polite, incredibly welcoming, and will literally bend over backwards to accommodate his customers. He genuinely wants to do good work for this neighborhood, and for regulars he’s known for a while, he even goes out of his way to do kind favors. I’ve come to consider him a true friend. They still honor deals that not all corner stores showcase (2/$6 12 oz redbull for ex… some stores upcharge every size of redbull). Plus the main ppl that work here recognize regulars like me and that means more than $ savings in today’s world not gonna lie. I enjoy seeing them as part of my routine and they’re always helpful even if it’s right before payday and I’m struggling lol! So I’ll spend like $20-$25 dollars here everyday, I put it in my budget though because I’d rather give places that care about their customers … even if they get a million customers …being a downtown pgh convenience store and all…. Because they still make me feel like a normal person just trying to survive a long and stressful work day. And one of my fave clerks works like 80 hrs a week no lie but he still treats me with kindness first thing in the morning. Including days where I’m late, stressed, and quickly buying redbull then bouncing to work…… regardless of upcharged prices for some items… they still deserve stars for being human in a small big city.
