“This shop has multiple very friendly workers and an amazing variety of organic and healthy treat options for dogs as well as cats! The biggest thing I love about this shop is that they have a ton of toys safe for dogs who are chewers that aren't $20-$40. They also offer food samples if you're looking to switch brands.”

“My 8# Yorkie had been injured by a groomer at the Dog Stop on Washington Blvd. I waited 3 months b4 taking her anywhere for grooming b/c I wanted to allow Lilybear to decompress from her trauma. A friend recommended Janice and despite the fact that LilyBear immediately attempted to bite Janice, Janice persevered & was able to complete a mini groom. I’m so grateful - hopefully, next time Lilybear will be a little more calm. I’ll definitely return!”
“I may be biased as I am married to Ryan, and we have known Brad for many many years, but I love this little store! Even if I didn't know them, I'm sure by the end of a first visit I would. They are both knowledgeable in many different animal care aspects. They have high quality foods, toys, litter (I want to cry when they are out of my favorite one!), treats, and more. Make sure to stop in and say hi! You may even get to see one of the visiting foster cats up for adoption!”

“We have been satisfied customers of healthy pet products since before the time they moved to their current location. You can depend on them to not only steer you towards the right products for your pets, but to have them in stock as well. The staff is always friendly, but more importantly, they know what they are talking about. They have saved me from somewhat dangerous or very embarrassing situations in the past. I would drive past six other stores on the way to get to healthy pet products. They are just that good.”

“We adopted one of our dogs through PetLand and used their grooming services when we lived in Pittsburgh. We moved out of state, but our dog was recently in Pittsburgh with our son and got into a bunch of burrs. Stephanie not only agreed to help, but she stayed after her shift to see him the same day it happened. Both my son and dog were VERY appreciative of her care and compassion!”
“I had no idea there were so many gourmet foods available for dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small animals. Currently, it's a guinea pig takeover. I have mixed feelings about animals in pet shops, although I have rescued a few from such situations in the past. This is not to imply that the residents are not cared for there. They seemed reasonably content. I just can't tolerate seeing animals in cages (at the risk of being attacked by those who detest animal rights activists). Recommended reading: Empty Cages and Watership Down.
10/22/24 Update. Several cats and ferrets also available for adoption. American Natural (I call her Natalie) is very affectionate. Some of the other cats may appear wary of strangers and this is certainly understandable. They just need love and attention.”

“I am new to the area and have 2 long haired German Shepherds (Ruger and Leupold) I have always groomed them myself (they are 4yo). I contacted a couple groomers in the area but because they had never been done by a groomer they would not take them so off to petco I went the staff was awesome they met the dogs (who are very well behaved) and I set up the grooming appt.
My boys were groomed by a young man named Frankie he did an excellent, amazing job on both of them and I just feel that he really needs the recognition he deserves!
