“Great place and fun selection of books! Just taking 1 star off because of the truly puzzling decision to lock what was basically the front door. I can understand if there was some shoplifting issue or something, but why the doors near the children’s area? That side of the building has the most people due to facing other storefronts and the shopping center’s main parking lot. They now want people to walk around to the basically deserted part of the shopping mall, with nothing but the PF Chang, basically no foot traffic at all. If you were say at the Five Below or Panera and then wanted to check out the bookstore for impulse shopping or something, you have to walk around. It’s a thing you have to really think to do, since there’s really nothing on the back area of Settlers Ridge. I just don’t understand. Why not keep the children’s area doors open and the back area locked? I think the management decision is making this bookstore lose business and inconvenience potential customers.”

“Very nice place, the baked chicken empanadas and the cheese tequettes were delicious. The coffee is free, the man who attended us was very kind, they have books, coffee, cups and more for sale.”

“This place is just great. Sure, it has lots of good books and a cute little reading room, but my favorite part about the store is its commitment to local. Every time I come in I find new material from local artists and authors who might not otherwise get a platform. That alone makes it worth the trip.”

“I attended Robert Morris College in the fall of 1970, but after one year, I transferred to community college near home. Had a great learning experience, both educational and social.”

“Shepherd’s Door is a Christian nonprofit that operates a retail store and community programs. I shopped in the store one time. I saw merchandise such as crosses, greeting cards, mugs and cups, chocolates, soaps, home decor, stuffed animals, etcetera. Some products had a Christian theme, and other products were fair-trade. I decided to buy a few items. The cashier spoke nicely to me and accurately processed my transaction. The prices were typical.”

“Edit- 3 stars since they keep reporting my review. Showed up at 430AM as my daughter wanted to search for 2 books. Worthless employee showed up at 0455 for an open at 0500. Kept cage down while counting the drawer. Stood outside the store and looked inside. Worthless employee stated she needed 10 minutes with endless attitude. I said sign opened at 0500, worthless employee asked what sign, I said your website. Good lesson for my daughter that when you work a job, you should be on time and willing to earn a living. This employee did not. We walked away!”
