“My car broke down on the turnpike. It was a coolant leak of some sort, and it had to be towed off the roadway. Late on a Friday afternoon, in the Thanksgiving holiday week, this gentleman made time to look over my car and attempt to repair it. The damage was essentially minor, but it still needed to be corrected. Scott labored for over an hour attempting to pinpoint the problem, then he applied a stop leak product and gave me a bottle of antifreeze, so that I could continue my out-of-state trip without further delay. I'm grateful he could squeeze me in with absolutely no notice when he probably is ready to go home after a long day.Service: Auto water leak repair”
“Wow - lifesavers! I was driving cross-country with my cats today when the AC promptly stopped working, and it was 90 degrees. Wouldn't have been so serious, but with the cats in backseat, it was becoming an issue, fast. Luckily, I found these folks who squeezed me in to take a look, so I drove right in and unloaded the cats. Turned out my too-smart car shut the AC system off due to a voltage issue with the heat. These folks had it reset and back on the road in 40 minutes. Not only were they incredibly kind and helpful, but so knowledgeable, I learned more about how my car works now that it's aging, and how to manage the problem than I could have hoped for. Seriously, so grateful. These folks are amazing ??”
“2 years ago I broke down on turnpike heading to Maryland to visit family. I called so many repair shops and no one could get me in or would even give me the time of day! I called them and they told us to come in and they’d help. They figured out a battery was bad in my Prius. They found one close by, got it for me and had me back on the road so fast. I was with three teens and had a family reunion to make it to. I will never forget them and feel bad I didn’t leave a review then! I am headed back that way this summer which is what got me thinking of this!”

“Had to get my car fixed due to a deer hit. My insurance (erie) sent me to them. The communication was great, they kept me updated on my car and even had it done before the estimated time. I mainly spoke with a guy named Noah who was really nice. When I got my car back you couldn't even tell it was involved in a deer accident. It looks the way it did before the damage. They were very easy to work with!”

“They literally saved our vacation trip when we lost our water pump just before Somerset. Instantly diagnosing the issue, they had the part, found the gasket they didn't have (then had it quickly in hand), then installed it at a more than reasonable price. They were pleasant, honest, and helpful throughout. On top of that, free popcorn in the showroom. We were back on the road in well under two hours from the time we first notice the problem. You can't ask for more!”

“I've been using Tri Star Motors in Somerset, PA since 2005. Since that time I have bought 6 or more vehicles. I have all those vehicles serviced at their shop. The service is incomparable to anywhere else I have ever used. The employees are always knowledgeable and friendly. The shop is very clean as well as the waiting area and show room. There are coffee and snacks in the waiting area so you can relax while waiting for your vehicle to be completed. I live 30 minutes away in another town and wouldn't consider buying a car from any other place.”

“I went to multiple "Diesel Performance Mechanics" in the past two years with my 2007 Ford F-350 Super Duty. I knew my 6.0 Power stroke was going to need "Bulletproofed" when I bought it. First mechanic located in Beaver, Pa ($4200) botched it after three months in his garage. Oil pump housing was cracked due to over tightening before I got it home. I then took it to a mechanic in Harmony, Pa that fixed what the first mechanic failed to do after 1 month in his garage (3700). He forgot to install the shocks that I supplied and a few weeks later oil leak. Third mechanic in Homestead, Pa repaired egr delete hose connection ($320) one week. Still to find leaks. Ugh! Tom and his guys are the only ones that will be doing any of my diesel work. I was considering selling the truck but gave this place a chance before I decide to spend 80k on a new truck. They did everything I asked. Told them to treat it as their own. If it needs it, do it. Two weeks later, complete satisfaction. No leaks, more HP, nice new 4" exhaust, replaced all screw-ups from previous "Diesel Performance Mechanics". It is worth the drive or tow to get it to him. I'm located by Pittsburgh International Airport and Big Dog Diesel is my go to when it comes to my diesel. Thanks Tom!”
