My main complaint is I can't try anything on. I also think some of the prices are too high for such worn looking clothing.

This is not a bad store, but I do wish the employees were more welcoming. But it’s clear to see it is not their fault. What I assume to be management got upset with an employee for having a conversation with me. That is not how you run a business! If you do not allow a costumer employee relationship, it’s hard to get people to keep coming back especially since a lot of merchandise at Walmart, Ross, and gabes are now cheaper than goodwill. It is also hard to navigate the store with how many employees are putting stuff away. I understand everything needs to be put out on the sales floor, but that should never get in the way of the costumer shopping. You make your money by consumers, if the consumers are unable to get down aisles due to employees putting merchandise away, you are losing money. It’s a fine store and you can get some good finds, but it is disappointing that it could be so much better with some better management and understanding of how important the costumer is.

I used to enjoy shopping here but the price in this goodwill started being crazy this year. Lots of things in bad condition went over 10. Is it still for charity now?

Prices are WAY too high for things, such as $40 for used plastic shelves. One can buy this product new across the parking lot at Walmart for that price. The electronics are mostly broken and overpriced as well. Example: A Dell keyboard with missing keyboard keys, $5. Someone needs to weed through the junk and toss bad items.

Love coming here. Most of the time it’s highly organized. The pricing is mostly fair. Employees aren’t disrespectful. Overall can’t really ask for more with how all thrifts are in 2023

This store is spacious. Lots of name brands and high quality goods. Their book section is awesome!

I was astounded today when I asked for the Senior/Military discount today that has been in place these past 7 years I've lived in the State College area and told they no longer were having one. That now I would have to join Goodwill Insiders for an occasional coupon. I don't understand why a discount for Seniors and our military vets needed to be taken away. It showed an outreach of appreciation to members of the community that have have given a great service to this country and their communities. My husband served over 20 years of his life in military service and I a military dependent for 27 years. We are now both Seniors, too. This was like a slap in the face. I have been to several Goodwills throughout my life, as well as several in the past few years. They have always been honorable in serving the community. However, since this Goodwill moved to the current location and COVID happened, it seems to be more about gaining as much profits as they can and who cares about anyone that walks through the door. Many who have given FREE donations in which Goodwill profits from. Myself and my husband being such people. I have found employees at the register to be disgruntled, rude, and acting as though they are doing people a favor ringing them up. The store seems to have no care as to how shelves look, but continue to throw things on haphazardly. The craft supply aisle is one of the worst. I've even found food items on shelves that needed to be tossed out. Overpricing of used items, often broken or chipped up, getting worse. Sticker pricing tags being placed on important parts of items which can ruin them. If you're going to charge antique and regular retail store prices, then put price tags in places that won't damage goods. Even used and sometimes soiled clothing are getting prices closer to new clothing prices. Other thrifts in the area are half as much or run more sales. I have been to many other Goodwills in PA and other States and never seen the disorder I have seen in this store. This Goodwill store is supposed to be of service to people, but is straying further and further away from that mission. I've been feeling more and more disgruntled with what it has to offer. But the taking away of the Senior/Military discounts was really a low and final blow. I've been a regular customer for a long time. But why go anymore if I can just go get things new or find unique items online or at more well organized thrifts at lower prices. Maybe one day you will return to what you were before COVID made you turn greedy. You are not, in my opinion, any good representation of a caring facility anymore. Even Anna, who gave a comment earlier about this same thing, received a reply from the owner that demonstrates how this Goodwill has lost its way. The reply compared a price of an item with what she felt was a high price to something similar on Amazon. But here is why that reply was so wrong. Amazon is a profit making business. Goodwill is a non-profit one. Amazon has to pay full taxes. Goodwill is tax exempt. Amazon has to buy its products that it sells or those who are retailers with them. Goodwill gets its items for FREE. This particular store gets several large bin loads a day. So why should it matter what something sells for on Amazon, eBay, Etsy, or any other profit making facility. Any FREE item Goodwill sells is 100% or more gain. Profit making retailers do not get free items to sell. Goodwill customers, for the most part, are people who often can't afford high priced items, which is why they are there as customers. To even compare prices to profit making retailers, who by the way sell new items to GW's used, is a callous reply to a person trying to get the focus on what Goodwill's mission is suppose to be overall. A non-profit charitable organization in service to its community.

I've always loved Goodwill for giving me a huge selection of cheap second hand shopping. Lately I feel a though Goodwill has forgotten that. It's second hand shopping that's taken advantage of my trust with high prices. The items are not high quality, and are often old, worn, handmade, and dirty (sometimes great things can be found..). That's the way it's always been, so if the items are not increasing in quality why are the prices so high? How can you explain an old worn t-shirt costing $5.99, or the fact that I can't try anything on? Or a block of wood with a wire man $5.99? There was an old wooden table, that's wasn't cleaned, or of quality, that was being sold for $49.99.Goodwill, how do you justify your prices? I can go to Walmart or Ocean State Job Lot and buy brand new clothes for cheaper or matching your prices. There's no point shopping here anymore when I'm no longer saving my money..

They wanted to pick and choose on donations. The worst process I've ever seen. Wound up throwing a trailer full of good Usable stuff away.

Where else can you buy a brand new Nike Pro T-shirt for $2.50. This would have cost me 60 at any major store. Shop Smart.

Donate to The Woman's Club on Allen St. instead-- all the proceeds go to local people and charities and no disabled workers are exploited for low wages like they do at Goodwill! Also, the new location is not good. Wish they'd kept the westerly parkway one, it was much better organized and cleaned and actually sold a bunch of furniture and other home stuff like books etc. This new location is basically all clothes and is badly organized/always a mess. Even with SO much more space the racks are way overloaded and stuff is constantly falling/there's no space to look at it because it's too packed in. I think they need to hire more people and hire people with better design skills to make a better system there (and pay them a living wage, which according to MIT living wage calculator is about 17.61/h for a single person in Centre County)

I would describe it as a neutral experience. I was unfamiliar with the location so I didn't know the organization system (which can be a little overwhelming to me). I wish I could have found some crafting supplies. But at the same time I could tell it was organized and clean. And I would say that the prices I saw are reasonable for secondhand items.

Worst Goodwill in the area. They won't open the changing rooms, which SUCKS. EVERYTHING is overpriced. Almost every item you touch is broken or dirty. I rarely find anything good here. Most items sit on the shelves for months. ( Because most of it is broken or literal trash, I have no idea why they let it get onto the sales floor in the first place.) Prices continue to go up, and the quality of items continues to go down. Disappointing. The old Goodwill was so much better. The new one is bigger, but sucks compared to the old one.
