“It was nearing time to close when I knocked on the door of Optima Jewelers. My rings were too tight and I had been looking for someone to help. Rob answered the door, turned all the lights on, and took a look at my hand. I said I can come back when you have more time. He said no, it should come off. He so kindly took a tool and opened the band of the ring after spending a good amount of time sawing it open careful not to hurt me. Here's a guy who took 1/2 hour of his time, did not charge me a cent, and removed the offending rings. You can bet I will be having this kind jeweler, Ron Ly, do the repairs for the re-sizing. He kept the store open after closing to help me, who he did not know, and did not even ask my name. Who does this in this day and age?”

“Wonderful service. This lovely shop on the Paoli shopping center is unassuming but brilliant inside. I came to see if a pearl pendant necklace would be worth repairing and they did a beautiful job at a very reasonable price and called directly to let me know it was ready. The shop has amazing pieces on display, a variety of types and plenty of settings to work to create your own options. It's wonderful having such a great spot nearby to purchase or repair in the future. The strip mall tends to have shops rotate regularly and the parking can be tight but usually can get a spot and this one seems to stand the test of time.”

“As a thirty year old man who has no experience with jewelry, I was in need of some guidance for an engagement ring I wanted to buy. A close family friend had recommended John Anthony. I stopped in one day and told the father and son duo what I was thinking. They couldn’t have been more helpful. Not only did they help me through the process, the educated me and explained the entirety of the ring, the diamond, the process of how it’s made. I was in there for hours talking with them both and it felt like five minutes. I had some stones from my then fiancés late father that John happily agreed to put into this ring. I put the order in and within a few weeks, I had the exact ring I was looking for and it looked amazing.I went back for the wedding band and it was the same experience. At this point I had only met these guys a couple times, but I felt like I knew them for years. This is why it’s important to go to “mom and pop” shops, to support local businesses. I would not have gotten the experience and comfort I did if I had bought a ring at a chain or online. Engagement rings are expensive, so you want to make sure you are making the right decision. And with John Anthony, I know I did.Along with the jewelry, they provided me the appraisals and all documents for record keeping and insurance.I will be coming back to these two again in the future.”

“I went into this jewelry store to see if they could bring my watch back to life with a fresh battery after the jewelry dept. at Kohls was unsuccessful. The owner placed a new battery in the watch but had the same result so he spent at least 10 minutes testing it with a magnetic field, taking it apart, cleaning its parts, etc. It became clear that the watch needed a more extensive repair which I wasn't willing to pay for since it was an inexpensive Timex. The owner refused to charge me anything but I insisted that he take something so paid him $10 for his efforts. I'll definitely come back to have him replace watch batteries or watch bands or make repairs.”
