“I booked this company for a move from PA to FL around the 4th of July holiday. My mother in law had started aconversation with Mickey and put me in touch with him to discuss pricing/move amounts. At this point I had already called three or four other moving companies so I had a pretty good idea of what I was moving and the potential cost. I explained it was a small move with no big furniture. I would need to use one of their trucks and movers but the items would be mainly boxes that I had already pre-packed with bubble wrap and labeled with our last name/item descriptions with some smaller furniture like chairs/desks/TVs. After playing footsie over price they agreed to do the move for a very reasonable cost considering the holiday. I did notice that they did not have me do a room by room item by item inventory over the phone like some of the other movers I had spoken with (which may be the reason for some of these other less favorable reviews with items not fitting on trucks/enough space...that was not our experience...do yourself a favor and make your own checklist before you call them so you communicate what you need properly). My husband signed the contracts with them and paid our deposit.The day of the move they were a few hours late which wasn't such a big deal as we had devoted the whole day to making sure the items were on the truck and not under any strict timeline. They advised that a previous delivery had put them behind schedule which we understood as that can happen. Then it was pouring rain so at our request they waited till the rain was supposed to stop to come load our items which I appreciated.Two men came (very nice and sociable) and loaded everything into the truck with no fuss/headaches. At this point they did do an inventory of our items. All of our items fit on the truck with no issues. We were then told that we could not use a credit card to pay the balance...it had to be cash or money order. This we weren't expecting...and we did not have the cash on hand...so they agreed to move the items but advised we would need to settle payment before the delivery (which was fair). Thought it was a little strange they didn't take cards...so we called the main number for the company and was told that they indeed could take credit card payments so we paid in full over the phone with the main office.The delivery of our items was a bit chaotic. we were given a delivery window which is standard in an out of state move and I will say that they absolutely DID deliver during the windowed time. However, the actual date/time did change three or four times with our items being stored in a warehouse and then reloaded onto the truck...and we had a neighbor that was supposed to let them into the house in FL that was starting to get annoyed.That being said...these were minor things considering all the variables/logistics involved and issues that were easily worked through with some flexibility/communication.Our items arrived on time, undamaged, all accounted for, and for the price we had agreed upon (which was much much cheaper than others I had been quoted).”

Not only did they move everything really fast they even took everything to the correct rooms in my new home, so the only thing I have to do is unpack. “I had a great experience with Reads. Not my first time using them; worked with Reads on corporate moves a few times, and they moved my home now twice. First, their estimate was spot on. It is amazing to me that they are able to eyeball your “stuff” and know how much you have. Charges are by weight and distance.The moving team assigned to my home (Randy and Anthony) were undoubtedly their A-Team. It is amazing how much experience the team at Reads has, and it is my hope that they all feel a sense of pride in this.Randy and Anthony showed up on Monday to pack me nice and early. They both had a great sense of humor, and lifted, moved, and carefully wrapped and packed items so quickly, I felt like I had a 4 or 5 man crew. They must go through shoes at an incredible rate. The truck was packed so expertly, that I do not think a mouse could have even fit in the truck along with the cargo. Whatever they are making, I can tell you they deserve a raise; having people that hustle like they do, can think quickly on their feet, and who show such enthusiasm on the job is a rare thing indeed.On Tuesday, they were joined by Billy, and to have well over half a century of moving experience -- between Randy and Billy alone, really showed.Not only did they all go above and beyond in every way, the move took half the time that I expected. With three people, unloading went like a flash, and all three of the gentlemen were kind, patient, and even relocated a few things that we couldn't decide on. They helped to unwrap and reassemble the furniture too. I am impressed in every way, and cannot imagine more capable people exist anywhere.I even learned a new way to carry boxes behind me thanks to some coaching by Billy. I know he is "moving on" from Reads (couldn't resist the pun), but will think of him every time I move a box behind my back now. -- It is surprisingly convenient!Thank you to Reads. Ryan did such a great job explaining and giving me options, that I chose the highest quote, believing I could bring the cost down by doing some of my own packing. The job ended up costing significantly less than quoted. “The crew from Jensen packed and moved us on two EXTREMELY hot and humid days. Our upstairs had no air conditioning! Jay, James, Colin and Lee worked efficiently and cheerfully under these challenging conditions. All our possessions arrived intact and undamaged. All boxes were labeled and placed in the appropriate area and furniture was maneuvered to my liking before they left. They also came in under the estimated number of boxes and hours, saving us money.
