You never want to hear the words “catalytic converter” come out of your mechanic’s mouth after he runs a diagnostic on an engine light. That’s easily a $4k fix.
But Mike, the owner of Big Oak Citgo, came out personally to chat with me. His knowledge and expertise of all things automotive is readily apparent and impressive. He explained how things work, and I nodded as he talked about iridium plates and sensors. Rather than inflicting a $4k repair on me, he came up with a Plan of Action that involved me changing my oil immediately and purchasing some fuel cleaner. He wanted to reset the system and see if it would help.
And it did!!! He was just as happy for me as I was. You can’t buy this kind of honesty or service. This comes naturally, and this is the quality service that is standard for them.
Why would you go anywhere else? They are good people doing good work serving their community.

Just want to say how much I appreciate the kind help Mike gave me when I could not get my locking gas cap open today. I went there in a panic (and on fumes!) because the attendant at a different gas station could not get my gas cap off. But at Big Oak, Mike got it open and took the extra time to be sure I know how to open it myself. It's so nice to have a gas station in the neighborhood that offers service like that!

Unbelievable service from this place! Ethan gave me 3.5 free quarts of oil, and assessed my check engine light for free out of his own time. Agreed to check again 2 weeks later but problem persisted sooner, so Tyler(my regular guy) fixed the oil pressure problem for free because it was under warranty & he even threw in the oil change for FREE! I highly recommend this place to everyone! Two thumbs up!

So helpful and friendly. Recently brought my car in for a battery change and a potential problem.
The owners honestly said best to take it to the dealership since I was still under warranty. In trying to solve the issue at dealership.. they suggested to change battery at almost triple the cost. Thank goodness for Big Oak Citgo. Even though they didn't work on my car this time.. they took time to assist in finding out some questions and saved me almost $300 dollars! They are simply the best around. Always Fairly priced and so helpful.

They're fantastic, they go above and beyond for you -- and I MEAN above and beyond -- all as part of their service. Extremely professional, extremely courteous ... exactly what you WANT from your mechanic.

I needed a bit of assistance with my new gas cap ( on too tight) and a cashier from inside came and helped me, and he could not have been nicer! It was a pleasant change from the overall lackluster customer service in many stores currently!

My son recently had my car inspected here for the first time. When he returned my car I was pleasantly surprised to see that the dent in the front of my car was repaired. And it looks great! How wonderful to have an auto repair shop go above and beyond. And for a first time customer. It's rare to find that kind of service now a days.I already requested another appointment. These guys are awesome. Tyler and his crew are honest and really work with you on what your car needs. They try to have a quick turnaround even when they are slammed. It’s always a fair price. We’ve been bringing the four cars in our family there for years and wouldn’t go anywhere else.
