When I arrived, they checked my car and were honest about there being no major issues. They noticed the oil was low, topped it up free of charge, and even took extra time to look under the car to double-check everything. Service like this is rare. “For anyone in Ottawa looking for a talented and honest mechanic with reasonable prices, I wanted to share my great experience with Mike Galazka and his assistant Martha on Main Street in Old Ottawa East. Martha was able to give me a timely appointment for my provincial safety inspection (I passed!), and was also able to order the impossible to find snow tires I wanted which Mike's team installed yesterday when he did the inspection. Today my car started to randomly make some awful and worrisome sounds. So I called Martha and she told me to bring it back and they'd figure it out. Mike, who I'm sure is always busy, dropped what he was doing to take it out for a test drive, put it up on the lift, and then take it for another drive. Turned out to most likely be a rock that got in somewhere, somehow and then fell back out, because the sounds stopped. One of life's little mysteries, I guess. But the point of the story is that they spent time looking into a problem for me, someone they had no prior relationship with, time spent that didn't generate any revenue for them, but which turned me into a customer for life. Thanks, Mike and Martha. You guys are the best!”

I called in the morning to set up an appointment for my brakes and they took me in and had my car ready by 4pm the same day even though i was originally told they wouldn't be able to complete the work the same day. They even called to ask if I wanted an oil change that I was overdue for. Everyone I spoke with was extremely friendly and welcoming. Huge thanks to everybody at the shop. Definitely recommend!”

“I’ve been a client with SMRO for the last 3 years, and just wanted to share how pleased I’ve been with the quality of service from this vehicle repair shop.
Robin takes the time to thoroughly explain the repairs needed on your vehicle, and also provides you with options along with a very fair price to complete any work. These folks are ready to help you out on a moment’s notice (Stephanie has been wonderful in getting my vehicle looked at and diagnosed quickly), and the quality of the parts and workmanship has been second to none in Ottawa.
I now use SMRO exclusively, and have completely stopped bringing my vehicle to any dealerships. I rely solely on Robin and his staff to deal with any repairs & maintenance on my Acura RDX.
I’ve already suggested SMRO to family & friends, all of whom have been extremely pleased with the service. If you’re looking for a reliable & honest repair shop for your vehicle, this is the place!
