Slowest round of golf I’ve ever had after a thousand rounds I’ve played. Had to quit after 9. 5 groups backed up on the 9th hole and Marshall wouldn’t do anything. Won’t be coming back

Wow! Just absolutely incredible. Immaculate course, great staff, beautiful place. Breathtaking course. The best greens I've ever played, the tee-boxes and fairways look like greens, just incredible. Not too challenging but not too easy either, a great variance in difficulty. Nothing repetitive , every hole makes you think. Just a great course layout. The carts are as comfortable as you can get.I will dream to play here again.

It was the most beautiful and challenging course I have ever played. Every tee has beautiful scenery, especially the elevated tees, that you can see the beauty of Montebello. Friendly staff and well organized. Will definitely play there again before summer is done.

I’ve played this course for a few years, great track, very well maintained course, and up until this past Sunday (Aug 20 2023) was well worth the drive from Ottawa. For everything mentioned above the course is a solid 5/5 stars, but the last 3 times we have made the trip out, the course Marshall (grumpy old man who wears a straw hat with a black stripe) has given us grief. Our tee time was 9:20am Sunday morning, course was wet so it was cart path only on all holes. We ended up waiting until about 9:35 to tee off as we were waiting for the group in front of us to clear the fairway. As we came around to hole 7 (11:25am) the Marshall came rushing down the cart path to tell us that we need to play faster and that we were VERY late? We were a little taken aback as it was “cart path only” and many of the holes are wide spread and require a good amount of walking to get to our balls. The Marshall was not polite about it at all, and basically told us if we can’t speed up that we shouldn’t be playing here. The group behind was a solid 15-20 minutes behind us and the group in front of us were walking off the greens as we stepped onto the tee box on almost every hole. Our round was finished at 1:45 pm, exactly 4 hrs and 10 minutes after we teed off. This wasn’t the first time this near exact scenario has played out with the same Marshall. Either someone needs to buy him a new watch or he needs an attitude adjustment. Needless to say that our group will be thinking twice before booking another round at Montebello as there are many other nice courses in the area with Marshall’s that are much more reasonable and polite.Edited to add: This doesn’t look like an isolated event as I scroll through these reviews I see a few people have had complaints over the same Marshall’s attitude.

Absolutely loved this course. Maybe about 5 holes where our group audibly wowed at how beautiful the course is. The views , elevations and challenge are incredible. The cart was super spacious and comfortable. The one negative is that the car path is in really rough shape and makes the ride uncomfortable at times. I can’t wait to go back!

Great place and very nice and organized, the girls staff were very friendly, the only thing that throw us off is the old man golfcarts manager he was so rude, unfriendly, and unprofessional

A fairytale Golf Course nestled in the Papineau Region of Western Quebec. From the onset of our experience there it was as if the course was ours for the afternoon. Msr. Andre in the Pro Shop made my Girlfriend and I extremely welcome. We enjoyed a cocktail on the beautiful patio and explore the Clubhouse before teeing off. The rustic and almost frontier-like appearance of the amenities were amazing to say the least. The driving range is located adjacent to the first hole and gives you a wee glimpse into what you be experiencing when on the course. The course offers shot making of all sorts and tests your ability to manage a tough track that is cut into a lush forest. Because we ventured out on a Tuesday afternoon we happened to be the only people on the course which enriched our golfing experience even more. I would highly recommend playing this course because it allows you to use all the creativity available at your disposal and gives breathtaking views of an absolutely gorgeous part of Canada. We cannot wait to bring friends to the area to enjoy its wonder again soon!

Played there today 2022-07-20. I was super excited to play this course and the property is beautiful. The course it self is in terrible shape. Every fairway has bald patches and weeds everywhere. The greens are some of the worst I have ever played. Several bald, dead and even heavily weed covered areas. Cart paths are so bad you are constantly bouncing around and in places it’s tough to control the cart. I can’t believe this course cost $100. Very disappointed that Fairmont would allow a property to be this poorly looked after.

Played here during after long weekend for Civic day. I was so excited because I heard alot of great compliments from my friends. We played at noon. The lay-out of the course is magical with some holes have great views. The Marshallis very friendly. The course is not in good shape that time. I think the fairway and green needs some improvement.

Second time playing there and such a beautiful course! Fairways have been in better shape, having played there once before but excellent greens and tee boxes. Challenging but exciting holes and we had a great time!

I have been playing golf at this club since I was 14 years old and I am retired. Fantastic Robert Trent Jones design old school golf club. The layout is a 9/10. Not all the fairways are great (6/10) but generally good and the green are usually good. The patio has a lovely view and is a classic old look. Some of the cart paths need resurfacing from tree root growth. We drive about an hour from Ottawa but usually worth it. We used to buy 10 games at the Golf Expo but I cannot find the deal this year. The website says summer rates will be $226.00 for two with cart plus tax (ouch). Factor in the price of gas and I feel like they are pricing themselves out of the market. Too bad because the Pro Shop usually has great deals.

Nice track for being short. We played after some serious rain so the bunkers weren't very good and the greens were recently aerated and were not brushed off so the greens were sub par. Probably nice round in middle off summer.
