Very unfortunate to see these reviews, and most significantly the responses from the owner/staff. We were excited to join as this is a beautiful project in the heart of Plateau, but unfortunately seeing that there are some core issues to the facilities and this is responded to with rudeness in a completely unprofessional manner is keeping us away. I don't know who is in charge of these google review replies, but seriously you are doing the business a disservice, 'boo'. We will not be joining the gym solely because of that..

It's a solid gym but the sauna is pretty smelly. I don't know why they don't enforce a towel rule for members. People are spreading all their sweat on the wood and the smell is lingering. Feels like being in a sweaty locker room after hot day.

Convenient location but hard to justify the membership price.
Management is not pleasant to interact with if you ever need to (which is the main reason I cancelled my subscription after over a year)

We went to visit the center. When we arrived, two girls looked at us strangely, as if we didn’t belong there. The girl on the right still said hello, but not the one on the left. My colleague politely asked if it was possible to visit the center, but the girl on the left kept looking at us strangely. She glanced at the other girl with a judgmental and unfriendly expression. The other girl ended up asking her to give us the tour.
We concluded that she has an ego that pushes away new clients. It’s very clear—we won’t be going back to sign up. If new clients are a problem for her ego, then fine, we’ll never become members at that place.

Former member.
As others have pointed out, the pricing is outrageous for the return. The staff is nice enough. But everything else is bad: you'd find better at gyms a fraction of the price. Typical new Montreal: shiny, nice looking exterior with zero quality.
Used the gym for several months. The locker room is tiny, made worse by the mess: towels and robes everywhere, water all over the sink and floors, empty tissue boxes, used tissues and q-tips on the floor, and a shower that takes forever drain made worse by lousy shower products. Lotion and soap are also likely to be our.
The robes and towels provided are piled and often with holes, and so rough as to be uncomfortable to use at times.
General cleanliness is lacking: a broken mirror in the main workout space that was broken for months, a clear safety hazard. Tea bags, tissues, and paper towels not put in waste baskets. Cleaners clean while people are working out; more than once a cleaner was mopping as I was on a treadmill and unplugged the treadmill by mistake, forcing it to immediately stop. This could lead to serious injury.
The outdoor hot tub area is the same. Their flooring is cheap fake gross that's soggy and slimy. There's visible mold on the wood paneling. The seating cushions are stained. And pigeons come and regularly drink from the hot tub. Not great, or hygienic.
Save your money.

Great gym. It's peaceful, low key, and never crowded, and I love the atmosphere of the converted historic building. The staff are friendly, equipment nice, and the space is always clean.
I specifically want to call out the experience I've had with the personal training available at the gym. I've been working with Caroline for about two months now and she's a fantastic trainer. She is extremely knowledgable, kind, and attentive, and always creates workouts and a mental space where I feel supported and safe, yet challenged. She has a great intuition for knowing how far and long to push--usually well beyond what I think I'm capable of--which really helps with building confidence and empowerment as a newbie to strength training. I've always been a runner, but I’d neglected strength training until a recent injury that was followed by other joint and connective tissue issues and pain. I'm so pleased that since I started working with Caroline, these issues have completely disappeared and I'm back to 10-15km runs with zero pain and better mechanics than ever before. Her ability to listen to my needs and create a workout plan that addresses not only strength, but mobility and improving speed and power, has really impressed me. I did not expect to see such remarkable changes in such a short period. I also really appreciate the way she works hard to sprinkle in fresh and fun activities to the program she created for me, which adds an element of play and novelty that keeps things engaging, enjoyable, and something that makes me excited for each workout, whether I'm with her or on my own. Her positive and encouraging attitude has also helped me with my mindset, perseverance, and confidence, all of which feel really important as someone coming to strength training so late in life and after some really frustrating physical setbacks.
If you want a really awesome coach who knows how to create a sustainable training plan tailored to your individual needs and goals, I cannot recommend Caroline enough!

We reserved 2 massage but we did only one of us because I didn’t want to get massage by guy. But policy said we had to pay and we paid. Now we can’t get two invoices to claim our insurance? But we paid for 2. We need 2 receipts for our claims.
If it’s illegal to issue the receipt? Is not illegal you charge us full amount without giving the service?

I always try and support small business especially in repurposed historical spaces when I travel so when I was visiting Montreal I went out of my way to workout here . I travel allot and fitness is a core part of my life so I have visited many gyms Unfortunately for the premium price of this place it was not a premium product. The men’s change room was disgusting with shoes swim suits and even a pair of wet underwear on the floor. In addition the change room was way too small for the number of users of the facility, it took a lot of energy to avoid invading the space of other dudes in the locker room . Also the bath products, towels etc were subpar for the price point . The staff were also more interested in chatting with each other than promptly helping customers it is apparent that the service expectations here are minimal. The cleanliness of the gym was comparable to a ymca or a community rec centre so acceptable but not what you would expect at a premium price point such as Montreal Athletic Club. While I expect a gym to be busy at peak time this place was particularly crowded to the point I would be concerned about safety training on the turf. So in summary while I love the concept I will go elsewhere the next time I’m in Montreal.
