Jackie helped me through every step of booking through the day-of and she was just wonderful. “Lovecraft-themed bookstore located in the Arcade in downtown Providence. It’s small, but if you like reading horror stories, want to learn more about Lovecraft, or are looking for a gift for someone who loves the macabre, it has everything you could ask for. In addition to books, they sell posters, postcards, figurines, and more. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and are clearly very passionate and knowledgeable about Lovecraft and horror in general. Cool place to visit, would definitely recommend!”
“We held our wedding reception here after a small private ceremony (months in between). I admittedly had very little to do with the planning (shout out to my wife and mother-in-law) but on the day of, Catherine was great and very helpful. Andrew was our bartender for the night and, although he shared that he was new to the space, he was wonderful.For the actual space and how it worked for our reception (roughly 85-90 attendees), it was amazing. We used the gallery room for dining and the bar room area for additional seating and dancing. It was a little tight in the gallery room with how we set it up (large tables, giving some space for the showcased art as well) and it was a little congested with one doorway between the rooms.I didn't hear of anyone complaining or nitpicking any of the above and I was having too much fun to be worried about it at all. Everybody seemed to have a great time and it worked out so well. I 100% recommend considering MWM for any of your events, but especially for your wedding reception (or, the whole shebang as I know someone who did both ceremony and reception here).Thanks again, to everyone involved at Machines With Magnets!”

“The flowers and vases are unique and stunning! I was fortunate to discover Gallery Belleau at the Art festival in Stuart, Florida. The beautiful hand blown pieces were so attractive and popular that you could barely get into the booth! I selected an arrangement of flowers and stems in a monochromatic style and they look amazing in my home. The staff were so helpful and patient, helping me select the perfect items for my arrangement. I am quite sure I will be back for more!”

While we've had our highs and lows, I've always remembered what a difficult business it is and how many art galleries closed their doors in the past years. “I am the mother of a teenager with Autism. I'm writing this review for other parents who may be in a similar situation, especially those who are naturally bronze in hue(trust me, there are difficulties). My first impression of the museum was that it was peaceful and the curator made it approachable. In many instances, the people working at museums can come off as stuffy and apprehensive. Yet, this woman had a listening ear when I explained our presence. I often let people know that my daughter is on the spectrum, so that if there is a meltdown or quirky behavior, they don't falsely attribute it to class or race(trust me, people do it).The art was beautiful and inspirational. There are various pieces created with oil, acrylic as well as watercolor, on both the first floor and the basement. We were able to vote on three of the pieces and look forward to the results.The environment is dimly lit, and clean. There are books on art and some chairs there, but I'm not sure if it's encouraged for people to sit and read. If so, I would suggest they create a section and put in a capuccino dispenser where people can pay a dollar or two. Perhaps the money can go towards the upkeep. The displays change every few weeks or so, so there is always new art available.In addition to this, they also offer reasonably priced courses. I remember her saying something in the ballpark of 140-150. I also remember her saying that most were adult centered courses.I would say that it is a very autism friendly environment and hope that other artists will go and support the museum, so that we can continue to have these places available.”

I brought in a doily that my great great grandmother crocheted as a last minute gift idea during this past holiday season. Not only did they remember me from my phone call, a frame was already selected for me for what I had described.In addition, the turnaround time was lightning speed. 4 days total to take care of my complex framing needs!When I saw the completed product, I teared up because not only was it so beautifully crafted, but it also highlighted and honored the piece in a way I could never have imagined.My mother LOVED her gift, and sat with it for several minutes taking in how beautiful this piece was.The Get The Picture Team made my family a museum quality piece and we couldn't be happier.”

“My husband and I had our wedding at the end of 2023 at this event space. We are so happy with the experience that we had with this venue. From the beginning they were very clear about what would be included in our package and pricing. When you have your initial consultation they draw up a price with you after you make food/drink selections so you know how much (including tips and fees) you will pay the day of. I cannot stress enough how much easier this made the ENTIRE planning process as that cost was known up front. Our tasting was such a lovely experience and we felt so cared for by Alex and the staff there - not to mention the food was awesome! The space itself is so fun, I still have guests talking to me about the 1920s bowling alley and how fun it was. The open brick walls and high ceilings really give a beautiful backdrop to whatever vibe you want to bring at your wedding. It was also important to us that we capture a bit of New England spirit and fall magic in our wedding and the space lends itself perfectly to that. Overall I highly recommend this beautiful, reasonably priced space for your Rhode Island wedding needs!”
“For the past three years I have been going here. The gallery always has something to see and buy a piece should you choose to. The cafe has coffee, tea, soda, and water for you to drink. Has some pastries to eat. The owner of the place makes you feel comfortable while there. Friendly place to visit and enjoy. Come and check this place out. Sorry to say, they are now closed.”

“I have been painting at Art by You for many years. I have many beautiful platters, pitchers, and gifts I have gifted over the years. The owner is always so helpful and flexible with families with small children! I was even further impressed this past February School Vacation - prompting this review - when upon opening, her shop was filled immediately. She has around 28 seats and every table, except 2, was filled with people waiting patiently for her to get them supplies. However, the 2 empty tables were being "taken" by a rather large group that were asking questions about the paint policy. (Every person must paint.) And were loudly deciding if they wanted to stay. While this was happening, lines of smaller groups were coming in. The owner had to politely turn away three small families while this group was walking around actively whisper-insulting the owner. After about 15 minutes, a 4th family walked in. The owner informed them she was full and the new customers pointed to the two empty tables. The mother asked if she could sit there and the owner informed them that the large group was sitting there. The mother said she would wait, and one of the women in the large group heard and scoffed at the owner. The owner then had to ask the large group if they were painting. That's when the family decided to leave. It was clear the owner was frustrated and I believe she handled it very well considering the way she was being treated. The other two tables were filled immediately and many customers apologized to the owner on behalf of the large group after their departure. She has my business for as long as she is open! As a teacher, people in the industry are often mistreated. It's a shame that this mistreatment is shifted to business owners during school vacations. Please be mindful that employees are people who deserve our respect. Visit Art by You for a calming and fun crafting experience.”
