“Several months ago the dreaded “Check Engine” light appeared….the code indicated “Catalytic Converter. Not surprised because our 2002 Camry LE has had no issues!
Instead of going to a muffler type shop, I googled catalytic repair specializing in welding. My first call resulted in a referral to L&J since he no longer does diagnostic catalytic work.
My second call to L&J turned out to hit the jackpot!
I spoke to Lisa and explained my dilemma. She explained the process of the repair and booked an appointment for the following week. She was very professional and knowledgeable about the automotive industry. She mentioned that Jose, the Owner”, would perform an assessment of the vehicle and quote a price for the repair.
He found several issues including a damaged “flex” pipe and a disconnected evap canister wire which was showing more computer error codes. I asked him to replace the catalytic converter and weld in a new “flex “ pipe. I decided to wait, realizing the job would take several hours to complete and since I live about 35 minutes from L&J, dropping off the car presented logical challenges.
Jose manages a team of tech’s and also provides “hands on” assistance donning his welders mask during the repair.
The entire experience was professional and displayed a level of automotive competence resolving all the “Check Engine” error codes.
The quoted price was competitive and acceptable.
Kudo’s to Jose, Lisa and the team of techs! The entire experience exceeded my expectations!
I would not hesitate booking more future repairs when needed.
