“My daughter and I took a glass ornament-making class at The Glass Station Studio and Gallery in Wakefield, RI this past October, and we absolutely loved it. The experience was educational, immersive, and very hands-on.
The class was taught by resident artists Eben Horton and Jennifer Nauck, who guided us through color selection, heating and shaping the molten glass, and using a blowpipe to inflate each piece.
Jen finished each piece by adding a loop at the top of each ornament for hanging purposes and then carefully placed each ornament in an annealer for cooling. All of the ornaments were ready for pick up the following day.
I highly recommend this class and experience—every ornament turned out unique, vibrant, and truly special.
The Glass Station is also a well-regarded studio and gallery filled with a variety of stunning hand-blown glass art by Eben and Jen. The Gallery also features work from other national artists such as Scot Staats and Jeremy Sinkus. You can find vases, pottery, jewelry, ornaments and so much more. The Glass Station functions as both a studio and a gallery for functioning and decorative art pieces. It is definitely worth stopping by and seeing all of this for yourself.”

The craftsman of the tables spent a lot of time explaining this work answering questions. Purchased a table and in my case was able to decide on what type of legs. Shipping is also a option also.”
“What a pleasant quaint gallery to visit. The owner, Shari Weschler, was engaging in her conversation with my children who are budding artists, well...one of them anyway! LOL... but we had a very informative conversation about the artwork and facility. Excellent place to visit if you're ever on that "strip."*Side-note* That area itself is very BUSY!!! “A lovely little co-op gallery with a diverse range of artistic styles, interesting pop-ups, and several prints and original pieces under $100, so even art fans on a budget can find something. And they are not just limited to nautical/ seaside themes (many coastal towns only focus on that). But the people working there are the true gem...I decided to get a piece the day after I went to the gallery, but realized I wouldn't be able to get there in time to pick it up during their posted hours/before I flew home. I called to ask if there were any possible solutions, but thought it would be impossible unless the business next door was still open (they weren't). The artist running the gallery that day went so above and beyond, not only to learn how to take payment over the phone, but also so I could pick up the piece after hours at a secure location.
And it was not an expensive piece, she was just that kind and helpful. 5 platinum stars. Cannot say enough nice things. ❤”
“I loved visiting this gallery! The owner, Sandy, was super outgoing and friendly - his photography was beautiful. It's a small shop on Thames St with photos of Newport and travel photography. There's also some paintings, too. I loved the vibe, and purchased a smaller piece for my bathroom. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for local art and a solid way to spend the afternoon.”
“My hubby and I were in Newport this weekend for a wedding and went to lunch at the Corner Café (yum!) when we got into town on Friday. After lunch we decided to walk around the neighborhood and after a block or so of walking we saw a sandwich board which led us to this shop. We had no expectations going in and were both SO impressed. Along the walls and in glass cases were beautiful beaded necklaces, on the higher walls were paintings, and in boxes set around were photographs. The shop was nicely organized and welcoming. The woman working was very sweet and explained the story of the shop to us. Downtown Designs is a non-profit that was opened to provide adults with disabilities with a place to design, make, and sell their arts. Behind the main showroom is another room where artisans sit making their jewelry. I liked a lot of the necklaces but found two that I absolutely loved. Both were made by an artisan named Lilly who was actually in the 2nd room making jewelry while we were there so we got to meet her which was very nice. I bought one of her necklaces for myself and one for my mom. I love the two pieces I purchased and I love the mission of this shop. All necklaces were very reasonably priced and had the same price-point which was nice. The woman who ran the shop (Melissa) explained to me that they can do this because they are a non-profit. I am so happy with what I purchased and really hope to go back to Newport at some point to revisit this shop. I just loved it.”

“We were looking to pick up something for our new apartment and came across Alexander's Blink Gallery on our walk along Thames. My fiancée found a print that she loved but unfortunately they were out of it in the size she was looking for. Gigi (sp?) from the gallery told us that the owner, Alexander "Sandy" Nesbitt, was out at the Newport Folk Festival with many other pieces and that we should check back after the Festival to see if our piece was among those he took with him. We came back the next day, and a different woman (apologies for forgetting your name) kindly looked up our piece in the inventory and told us there was one left at 89 Thames Street (Sandy's main gallery). She was able to have us purchase it at Blink and have it put aside at the other studio. When we got to the studio the piece was nicely wrapped waiting for us, and we were able to have a great chat with Sandy about his art, the festival, and much more.”

“Visited this place for the first time this Memorial Day weekend. They have a lot of very nice art here and the owners are wonderful people. One of the owners has his workshop there and he makes some amazing pieces as well. The building is also their residence so the garden out back is more of their stuff but it's very nicely done with some fantastic views. Owners are very friendly and fun to talk to. Highly recommend to stop in for a look around.”

“Went to Arnold Art after getting a price at Michaels for a double diploma frame (Masters and PhD). They designed and built an incredible frame. It well exceeded all of my expectations. It was larger than the one proposed by Michaels, but not too big. They added a build up for free. The wooden frame border was significantly higher quality than Micheals. The absolute kicker was... It only cost me $10 more. UNREAL!!! Arnold Art is top notch and I highly recommended them based on my experience.”
