“It's probably the biggest liquor store in newport. Certainly a great selection located within a historical old post office. It's a little bit of a hunt to find what you're looking for as they have a little bit of everything. Parking is available but can be tough during bust times. Staff are friendly and helpful.”

“I have been on a mad search for Myer's rum. It is so very hard to find in California. I went into Rex Liquors and lo and behold, I found my coveted Myer's Rum. They only had 2 bottles which was perfect. They were the 750 ml size. OK. Great. (Add dramatic music here) I see the price and I am conflicted. The price was $35 each. What the heck?? That's the price for a 1.75 liter bottle. Hubby said, Get it. We are on vacay. So, I bought it. I drank most of 1 bottle on the cruise ship in our room and the other bottle went home. When I got home, I was able to order 2 more bottles of Myer's same size and have them delivered. The price was $18 each. This place gets 4 stars because they had what I wanted and the man that got them off the top shelf was very polite. If the price was better, Rex Liquors would have received 5 stars. I am still happy though.”

“Nice people! They cooled off a bottle of prosecco for me (for later back in the hotel room) while I was across the street having dinner at La Forge. The parking lot was a nightmare. The exit parking lot machine tried to charge me $74. 53 for parking. I was there an hour and a half. The wine shop already anticipated the f-up and gave me a different bar code to scan on the back of the parking slip which was more like it: free, Thanks guys!”

“Decent selection for a smaller sized store. Clerk was friendly but when I paid with a credit card I got a prompt for a gratuity and the default is 20%!!! Are you kidding me? This expectation for tipping has gotten way out of hand but a liquor store was a first for me.”

Super packed but this store is central to most hotels (and the Harbor Marina Inn) to get chilled bottles or some nice local wine to have by your rooms fire pit. Going out is nice, but when you're paying a ton for a room, it's nice to enjoy the amenities also!”
