“I went there the other day for a royal blue suit and met with a haberdasher named Sai. He was extremely patient and professional and went out of his way to accommodate me. “Just hands down the *BEST* shopping in Newport. I live in Philadelphia with the famed King of Prussia mall nearby -- this store is better. Year after year, decade after decade, this is THE place to go for beautiful, luxurious, well made, fashion forward but wholly wearable clothing and accessories. The pieces are often an investment, but worth it for the quality. I look forward to shopping here all year long. Additionally, the customer service is beyond. They are happy to be as involved or as hands-off as you like, but pro tip: let them help you! They know their inventory, they know bodies, and they know fashion. We chatted up 2 young ladies. They were sweet and funny. We actually stayed a little longer and looked around more because of them.”

“One thing I like about Newport is that they really have unique merchandise in many of the shops. In an age where "good shopping" is sort of moot if you live in New York or, duh, have the internet, this is one place where you actually can find some unusual items. Royal Male has a lot of Barbour and St. James clothes, but also high quality clothing from smaller manufacturers. The best reason to shop there, though, is that the two guys who are usually in the Mary St. location actually know clothing . Yes, they want to sell you pieces, but they know their inventory, they know how clothes are supposed to fit, they have some idea if a color compliments your complexion, and they won't let you leave unless something looks good on you. That's a vanishing skill, and it's priceless. Stop in. My wife (yes, they have women's clothes) and I always do, every time we visit Newport.”

“Never been to a Black Dog store but since my dog is black, I just had to stop in. The storefront and display caught my eye. I love everything about this store. Friendly and courteous staff, really helpful. The selection was fantastic and there's something for everyone in the family. You can spend some money So be careful. If you love nautical themes and Black Dogs, you're in for a treat! Their bags, hats, shirts, coffee mugs, magnets, hats were all divine! Great styles and designs. The store was neat, today, and very organized. Thank you!”
