“My wife and I came to Hope Valley for Christmas and needed a place to work out. We had a 7-day free trial with Anytime Fitness, but when we got there today it was closed. So we went over to the YMCA, where I used to work out as a kid, and they were so helpful. Usually they charge $13/pp to use it for a day, but Regina gave us a free pass for the day since we were out of towners. Was a lovely gift on a cold afternoon (we were about to go on a run outside instead). Thankful to the staff there! Still great!”

“Camp JORI has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and truly a part of my family’s story. My grandfather, my dad, my brother, and I have all had the privilege of attending Camp JORI, making it a place that spans generations for us. I personally spent 10 incredible summers at Camp JORI as both a camper and a staff member, and today I am honored to continue giving back as a board member.

Camp JORI is so much more than a summer camp, it is a home away from home and a place where lifelong memories, values, and friendships are formed. Some of my favorite memories were made there: kayaking, knot making at the waterfront, hanging out with friends, olympics, and of course all my amazing campers. Camp JORI taught me confidence, independence, leadership, and the importance of community.

Even more special are the relationships that came from my time at camp. More than a decade later, I am still close with friends I met there, friendships that have grown and evolved but remain rooted in those summers together. Camp JORI has shaped who I am in ways I’ll always be grateful for, and just thinking about it still brings a smile to my face. It will forever hold a very special place in my heart, and I cannot imagine my life, or my family’s without it.”

“We kayaked here, easy put in and take out. We traveled upstream for a few miles, easy to navigate, had to maneuver around a few shallow spots but doable. Met a few very friendly people along the way. The ride back downstream was very nice. We will do this again.”

“I've been shopping here for over 10 years and have found some wonderful things!.
Lately, however, prices on new and label clothing have skyrocketed to being more like those of consignment stores!

If things are debated, why the big markup??
Consequently, I don't shop there as often.
Not quite the treasure hu n t it used to be, but I like that proceeds help to run their social service programs.”

“Excellent YMCA, my main complaint is that the fitness center is somewhat small compared to other modern gyms so it can get pretty crowded during peak times. I love how it has two pools, one is a lap pool and the other is a warm pool for families and those in need of it. The gymnastics and other sport programs have great offerings. They recently did a renovation and added and gaming lounge and arts and crafts room, which lets you drop kids aged 7 and older for up to 2 hours at a time. They have so many different exercise classes. My only other complaint is that they do not have any dedicated karate or martial arts programming which would be a huge asset to this location for family families.”
