“I had a sound happening a bit ago and I was told it was likely an exhaust leak but could not get under to look. Cue going to the shop. This place is amazing. Helpful ladies at the front and so kind, not to mention the cute shop dog, loved that. The man who looked at my vehicle said my turbo had come loose and caused the issue and he strapped it back together. Paid for their time and they even looked at my tires. I will go back for any other work and definitely tires. They are fair and treat you well. Also the drink area is mint!”

“Extraordinary Shop

Our family van broke down on Circle Drive last fall. The alternator had failed prematurely, for the second time in 2 years, due to oil dripping on the alternator from the spool valve. My years of maintenance and repair neglect had caught up with me. I decided to try a shop near my work that I'd never dealt with. At that time we were planning to not keep the van, so we got just the alternator replaced and not the oil leak spool leak problem fixed. This shop was promising at first when the initial repair was done in a timely fashion (though the price was higher than I anticipated). It's when I made an additional request for this shop to inspect a vehicle we were considering to replace the van with that it became apparent this shop wasn't right for me. The shops communication was unsatisfactory and the vehicle sat there at the shop with an in-complete inspection, so after 2 weeks I pulled the vehicle out. I was discouraged with this lack of customer service. The following spring my wife and I decided to keep our van and do all the necessary repairs. I was on the hunt to find the right shop to fix the spool valve oil leak. I wanted to find a shop that would give me excellent customer service in a timely fashion, be honest in their evaluations and recommendations, and be fair in their repair costs. I decided to email and call different mechanic shops. I called one mechanic shop that was out of town and was told I'd get an estimate, but did not hear back within a few days and this happened 2 more times with other shops I reached out to. This hunt was going no where and being a person of faith I decided to pray about my predicament. I prayed God would lead me to the right shop. Then it came to me, Tech 7. I had heard good things about Tech 7 and actually had previous business dealings with them, but never personally had repair work done. I emailed Tech 7 early one morning and within 2 hours I received a reply! They provided a very reasonable quote to repair the spool valve leak and were able to book an appointment to do the repair 2 days later! I was excited. Was this an answer to prayer, was this the shop I was looking for? That initial visited lead to 4 months of repeat visits for many other issues. Here is a list of the repairs Tech 7 did:

1. spool valve (VVT oil control valve solenoid)
2. front brake pads and rotors (10% remaining on pads)
3. front stabilizer bar bushings and links (front end clunking sound)
4. engine light cylinder bank #6 misfire (spark plug coil, 3 spark plugs)
5. valve cover oil leak (replaced the front and rear valve cover gaskets, later on when oil leak persisted with burning oil smoke , see attached video, and replaced the front and rear valve covers)
6. timing belt and water pump (timing belt was cracked, I saw for myself, see attached picture)
7. transmission hard shift between 2nd and 3rd gear (replaced pressure switch on 3rd clutch)
8. tire repair
9. oil change
10. engine light again due to a different issue (replaced engine oil pressure switch)

Though there was warranty work done due to failed parts (no fault to Tech 7) we were not charged parts or labor. Its been 2 months of driving the van with no oil leaks and no engine lights. Tech 7 was an answer to prayer. It's an older van, so we've got other issues and repairs needed, but for now we have a reliable and good running vehicle. Thank you Tech 7; service advisors: Dylan, Austin, Brett, Shawn (owner), all the tech's, shuttle drivers including Arvid for your excellent customer service and work. What impressed me the most is your consistency with prompt replies, fair pricing, and patience and understanding addressing our many issues and concerns. I have recommended you to others and will continue too.”

“Great repair shop. Dean and Evan really helped me out. My flex pipe blew on the way through to Grande Prarie Alberta. I left it with them thinking it would take at least the day. They had my car ready by 12:00 with a repair that was reasonably priced. As red seal automotive tech by trade I was curious and looked at the flex pipe repair. Some of the cleanest welds I’ve ever seen. They do a great job. Very honest, I wouldn’t go anywhere else in town.”

“Based on the excellent reviews, a few weeks ago, I asked OK Tires to check out a wiper issue that I had. Andrew the manager called me - and then told me that there was nothing wrong with the wiper and that they would not charge me (it turns out I was pressing the wrong washer fluid button). With this they completely gained my trust and respect. I have also learned that they are a full service garage - and that 70% of their work is with issues OTHER than tires

So a few days ago, I entrusted a $3000+ overhaul of my Subaru car to Andrew and his team. Andrew took personal charge and took me through the whole process. He called me yesterday and said that since the back brakes looked fine, they do not need to replace the rotors and pads (although I had asked them to). So my bill was actually reduced - I have NEVER had a call from a garage working on my car that resulted in a REDUCTION of the bill!
The Subaru spark plugs are a challenge to get to - and Andrew put his experienced mechanic on all the jobs with my car. They did an expert, accomplished job on this and all the other work on my beloved Subaru!
Honest, expert, professional garages with expert mechanics are difficult to find. But I would recommend OK Tires 8TH Street with all my heart.
