Absolutely horrible staff, rude to say the least! I took clothing in said they were not good enough because they were not folded and stained (which I know they had no stains as I went through it) they told me if I didn't pick up they would throw it out!!!! When there was NO way i would make it 10 minutes before closing....when I went to pick up the next morning i reminded them they are a second hand store not Gucci!!! Staff need to learn better customer service and lose the attitudes!!! And when I see their stuff they are selling lots in horrible shape!!!!

Picked up a dress for my daughter and the tag said priced for $12.99 then I noticed the original tag on it which was a winners tag on the dress which was for $7.99. When I went to the front to pay I simply asked if they would accommodate the original price for cheaper since it is second hand owned. The sales lady said she would have to ask someone which she did, the lady came up took a look at the tags, shrugged her shoulders and said “nothing I can do!”. They asked me if I wanted it or not, I said definitely not. Seems a bit shady to me as a second hand/gently used store to be selling items higher than the original price when the proof is right there. Will be telling friends and family to watch for that.

You would think with ALL THEIR MANY NEGATIVE REVIEWS they would do better with customer service. Their staff are utterly rude and unpleasant. Also, when it comes to buying clothes from you, they are just ruthless liars, saying there are stains or they are poor quality. We had many name brand clothes we bought from *their* shop and I took the receipt along after feeling ripped off last time I sold them anything. 5 boxes of8 girls and boys spotless clothes and we got $5. Per box....I had washed and ironed everything inspecting each item so carefully....Why is it good enough for you to sell a winter coat for $25.99 but after us wearing it for church only 6 times maybe, they offer just $5.for it? Plus everything in the shop smells like musty old socks. Their prices are ridiculous but their buy back prices are downright miserable. Also, I suggest if there are any glowing reports of "friendly efficient staff" they are self written reviews by their own staff.

This place refuses clothes arbitrarily based on “wear, stains or style”, but the person making those choices is subjective. I have seen some really questionable items on the racks and had a box of almost new, clean, brand name items without them even pretending to look through it. It’s a great idea and place to shop sustainably, but their employees could have a lesson or two in friendliness and they should standardize the items they will consign.

The cashier wearing the grey toque this afternoon seemed to be really bothered that my mom and I were trying to make purchases. She was quite annoyed with my mom who stood in line at the sign on the floor and gave her attitude for not standing at the till to wait. After she rang my mom through she left the till and walked away. I was the only one in line where I was then ignored for about 4 minutes while she wandered and then she came over and stood at the till and I don’t think she said a word to me through the entire purchase. She didn’t tell me she was ready for me and just stood there. She rolled her eyes and huffed the entire time ringing in my stuff. Didn’t even tell me my total, had to see what it was on the debit machine. I spent over $70 today. Won’t bother driving from the south end of the city to bother the staff again. A little “hello” or a smile goes a long way.

staff are rude, which shouldve been the first sign I should've just left. I had many clothing items to sell and wanted to also buy items. staff said they were only interested in 2 items because the other stuff just doesn't sell well. I had just gone though the whole store, even had items in my hand, that were almost identical, and same brand name, as the stuff I was trying to sell them that they said weren't good enough. staff not informed at all about their stock.

Went in tonight, I found a nice element jacket for my son which was $22.00 & I noticed a rip, fading on both arms, and candy wrappers and garbage in the pocket.. so I simply asked a worker if I really had to pay the $22 and she said I would still have to pay it in that condition! AND THEN, my son grabbed a bag of dinosaur toys which was all bitten up and wings were falling off and there was strands of hair all over them! Sooo we should really do something about that because they're ripping off all mothers who love to save a buck!! Especially during this damn inflation!! Grrrrr poopy store!

Wish I could give zero stars. This place is a disaster.I went in to sell some items. On the website it explains how easy and quick it is. States it'll happen right there and then. Not at this store. There was a table set up at the front door with a pen and some paper. And a GIANT pile of items in bags. I was told to leave my stuff there "as there is no way they are getting to it today"Why anyone left their things is beyond me. Anyone could have grabbed any of it and walked out. Or if the tags get moved/lost then you will never see any money. What a train wreck. I'll never go again to sell or buy

Great place to find new or gently used kids clothing shoes and so much more. If you're a frugal shopper, and conscious about saving the planet from pollution and like thrifting. This is great place where you can find tons of different kids stuff. From swimwear, baby strollers, clothes, toys, shoes, sports stuff, winter jackets & pants and much more. Overall, it's pretty organized and you'll never know what you find, be it new or used. Save the plant, reuse, recycle and reduce.

The store is pretty meh. I take a bin and make very sure everything isn’t stained or torn or overly worn before I go in. They buy almost nothing. We’re talking barely worn recently purchased items from baby gap, carters, OshKosh. Then I go look at what’s on the shelf and find tons of old, worn, stained stuff for exorbitant prices. I don’t know who decides what’s “fashionable” in that store. Makes no sense to me. Second hand clothes are better purchased from Facebook marketplace where the seller gets to keep all the funds and the buyer gets a better deal.

Brought a large box of infant boys clothes in and nothing was stained or worn. Some stuff my son never wore at all. They took 3 shirts and offered me $2.95. Are you kidding me??? Not even worth me driving there. I shop there all the time but won't be coming back!

So disappointed in the staff here. Was shopping there today when my two year old said “go potty”. I asked the staff if she could use their washroom and was told in no uncertain terms that the washroom is closed due to covid restrictions - even though NONE of the staff were wearing masks and they only had plexiglass on 1/5 of the counter where the tills are. They directed us to go to the gas station down the street. The gas station had “no washroom” signs up, but let us use it anyways because they understand extenuating circumstances with a two year old. That said, we didn’t make it in time and my daughter had an accident, requiring a wardrobe change. You would think a store that caters specifically to children would understand that their clientele does not have the same bladder control as adults do and washrooms are important for these little ones. There are many other retail stores that continue to provide washrooms through covid, and OUAC were not following any other guidelines, so that explanation is bull.

First off...if I could give 0 stars...yep you guessed it I would. Not for the staff as they were all hard at work and "Most" were lovely. A big 0 for how they run their business but I guess that's why their doors are still open because they are literally buying lower than low. And, we their customers are letting them do this. You're better off doing a yard sale or donating them to a shelter. Below is just one experience and my last... I went to Once Upon a Child today and after going through my things...they pulled out these items for themselves. 25 items altogether. So let's add up a few items...just for fun: Discovery tower toy is worth $80, Love 2 Learn Elmo $89, Paw Patrol plane/helicopter $75, Octonauts Pod $40, Five Paw Patrol cars (~$10/each), Toddler Puma shoes ~ $35, etc. Total Retail: $369 not including all the items...that's just ten items so far...and these are not outdated items btw...and no missing parts btw...and all in good to new condition btw...so don't BS the people with your reply to this honest and fair rating/feedback. *Do better by the very people who employ you(your customers)!!! After they used their fancy outdated good for nothing computer generated POS they came up with a total value of... wait for it... $11.80 Clearly I did not accept this ridiculous price and I let them know they need to update their computer. I know and don't expect to get the total value of even half that. I realize it's a business and they need to make money too. But, again look at the total cost of just the ten items above(15 of which I did not add)and can you make sense of their offer? The lady behind the cashier thought she could somehow justify this to which I just shook my head. No disrespect to the employees there who are just doing their job. I know they aren't the ones that set this price. I used to like it here way back...the Edmonton 99st location. I don't know about you but if I can get a brand new tee or shorts for my kids at Carters, Walmart etc for half the cost than why would I go thereThe staff were great in wishing me a good day. I felt great leaving with my items so thank you. You lost me as a customer forever and I definitely will be sharing my experience to every Mom I know and don't know. Nope not ever again!!!! #OnceUponaChild #notafan #ripoff
