My 2nd favorite place to be

Front staff is terrible at their jobs and not helpful at all. The pool never seems to be open and the lifeguards do more socializing than lifegaurding. Also everything seems to always be broken so where is all that money going from their expensive membership fees?

Way too overpriced for what you get. The place is like a dungeon with hardly any natural light. They don't play any music. The pool is usually full of swim teams. Save money and go somewhere better. The child daycare hours are also terrible and they would just leave my child in her stroller after she woke up the entire time.

Lifeguards socialize instead of keeping the pool area safe. MAKOS swimming is NOT for children who need encouragement or accomodations. MAKOS swimming is also not for the children of working class parents (schedules and fees are not reasonable). Youth Soccer has a "sideline coach" who has actively impeded the ability of coaches to manage their teams. No discount for members who want to take Karate. The director of youth athletics declines to return phone calls. There's not enough parking and even though there is a poster showing where your membership fees go, and the National YMCA organization is listed, there is no reciprocity with other area YMCA. Members of other YMCA are not permitted to visit without paying outside guest fees. Outside guest fees are excessively expensive, another ploy to keep working class families out, it's not hyperinflation.

Only reason I’m giving them one star is because I had to to write a review. Just moved back to Anderson and wanted to work out the first day back here. Showed up at 6pm and just wanted to pay for a day pass. Was told that they don’t sell day pass after 4pm. Told them I wasn’t worried about coming back tomorrow just wanted to workout tonight or cared that it cost $20 but was still turned down

the young man’s christian association is a amazing place to play pickleball. there is a amazing community to play at. there’s all kind of players to play against you’ve got karen’s,tennis players, people who flat out suck, and 5.0 pickleball players. we always have a blast when i go they should make it everyday.

This was our 2nd time and pretty sure my last time going to this location.Pool "opens at 1" when in reality it opens at 1:30 and then it takes another 15-20 minutes for the water on the slides and buckets to turn onWe watched the lifeguard do the water treatment tests, she went around showing all her friends and other lifeguards and they must have closed the outside pool shortly after, nothing was said, and there was no indication the pool was closed (the sign on the door was never flipped either time we came)you are NOT allowed to sit outside, a VERY rude lifeguard made me well aware, when I was getting my stuff.Itd be nice if there was a non air conditioned area to sit and drip dry, apparently having 1 lifeguard sit outside and make sure no one goes in the pool wouldn't be a feasible option.I also do not like that 0-17 have to go in 1 locker room and 18+ go in another no children allowed. My daughter is small and she needs assistance so we have to use the special needs bathroom (which there is only 2)

They need to rebrand. These are no longer ymca's. YMCA USED to be affordable, now it's a haven for old rich white people. Terrible hours, dirty facilities, but they wanted $80. For a day pass for two adults and two kids. They should be ashamed that they lost the ideals the YMCA was founded upon

Big facility with lots of equipment. Only gave two stars because of the availability of access to facility. Members have to follow set hours. Whereas employees, spouses ,and friends can come and go at any time of the day. It's extremely discouraging pulling up in the parking lot and waiting. Only to find out when the doors open there are 6 or 7 people in the gym working out. I guess this is a perk that employees get. In my opinion it's a perk that's pushing member away to other gyms that have more flexible hours. I will be looking into moving my membership to a location that has flexible hours that apply to all.

Fix your AC compressor. Refund or give money to us for the days we’re missing for workouts. I pay $80 a month for this place, meaning nearly $3 a day. Do better, very unacceptable.

The place is in need of repairs. But, it can be a good place to work out with friends and family ?. If they work on fixing old fixtures and other problems with the facility.

If you’re thinking twice about putting your child in swim lessons, JUST DO IT! Our daughter had taken two swim classes here and has learned SO much. She’s no longer afraid of swimming and actually enjoys it. We also signed up for a membership and we love it too!

Kinda crazy that The Y doesn't sell pool passes on the weekend, some people work all week and only have weekends off and yaw denied a pool pass because it's the weekend stupidity to be honest
