“WOW. The only reason to give this place less than 5 stars is to keep others from learning how good this place is. The BRISKET is the best we have found on the North / South Carolina cost. We can’t wait to try some of the other meats (if we can pass up the brisket). We will definitely be back.”

“The Spectator Hotel is the epitome of elegance and luxury, yet feels like home, in the heart of Charleston's French Quarter. I chose this hotel due to its central location and top-tier reviews, but felt I should also include a review so all travelers can indulge in one of the best stays I've had in a while. From the moment I arrived, through the time I departed (4 nights), I was enveloped in an atmosphere of refinement and treated like a queen. My room was comfortable and impeccably clean, inclusive of the most luxurious amenities, and a lavishly-stocked mini-bar (complimentary and refilled daily). I rested so comfortably in soft bamboo bedding, enjoyed using my large sumptuous marble bathroom (all bath products included), and enjoyed the most scrumptious breakfasts that were delivered daily to my room (complimentary with your stay and upscale-- not at all a "regular" hotel breakfast as these were one of the highlights of my trip). The service here far exceeded my expectations. Every morning, Darrell greeted me with the kindest "Good morning!" as he delivered the breakfast tray to the room. I always chose an early delivery time and his daily greetings, paired with the delicious breakfasts, started my day off beautifully. This left a profound impact on me-- not many are as kind and helpful at that hour as everyone is at this hotel. Darrell is one of a kind. From the front desk staff, housekeepers, bartenders, and dining team-- to the concierge, butlers appointed to each room (truly "at your service"), and the hotel manager-- I could sing praises all day long of the world-class service received here.If hotel management reads this review, I hope they will ensure that the scrumptious cordials continue to be left for guests in each room during turn-down service, keep every item on the breakfast menu, and keep offering the drink on the bar menu that was serviced with coconut foam on top. I could not stop thinking of these past my stay! Delightful! One can also rent a bike to use around town, pick up a local paper daily, enjoy fresh fruit and chocolate when coming in/out of the property, ask for guidance on what there is to do in Charleston, et al, all compliments of the hotel.Needless to say, I will return! Highly recommend.”

“So there we were, all geared up for a night of swingin' nostalgia with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the fine folks who brought us such musical hits like "Little Brown Jug" and "In the Mood." Luckily, I had wrangled some tickets in the nosebleed section of the Charleston Music Hall. As we began to ascend the staircase to our Himalayan like section, we eyed the lobby bar with a longing glance that Dry January forbade us from indulging. Once seated, the diverse crowd caught our attention. A mix of AARP veterans and hipster couples, wearing attire that could be described as a cross between Country Club Casual and Walmart Chic - all set to revel in the bygone era of big bands. The pre-show entertainment, slides projected on a screen over the stage, announced upcoming acts ranging from obscure CW acts to 50th Anniversary Tours, assorted cover bands and finally, musicals "Direct from London's West End!" The pièce de résistance? A slide advertising the "North Face Mountain Film on Tour" at the "CHARELSTON" Music Hall. Yep, you read that right! The lights dimmed, and the Glenn Miller Orchestra, not quite the 23-piece ensemble you see in old YouTube videos, strutted on stage. Clad in matching Hertz Rental Car Red blazers, the 14-member strong crew meant business - or at least, a jazzy kind of business. The bandleader, sporting a non-matching blue suit, delivered his obligatory "Welcome to the show" spiel, bemoaning the lack of hands raised when he asked who had seen the Glenn Miller Orchestra before. The crowd response was akin to crickets, but the show must go on.The band, an experienced crew of musos, hailing from Maine to Alaska to Tokyo, then launched into their greatest hits set. Some members even took a swing at vocals, with the politically incorrect lyrics of "Chattanooga Choo Choo" getting a modern makeover - "Pardon me Boy" became "Pardon me There". Glenn Miller probably spins in his grave at the bottom of the English Channel, every time they sing it.The band's chanteuse, a pretty girl with a great voice by the name of Jenny, (as well as being the band's social media director) sang "Dreamland" from her debut album - a terrific tune, that nicely complemented the evening's set.Just before the intermission, the audience was encouraged to visit the merch table, with its t-shirts, CDs, and a book about "LIFE ON THE BUS." For a split second, I wondered if this title would be more entertaining than Led Zeppelin's "Hammer of the Gods" classic. Nah!Returning after the break, the bandleader admitted to forgetting his instrument's neck strap offstage, disappearing for an entire song. Checking his email for a response from Celebrity Cruise's HR department? What struck me, though, was the sight of sheet music on the musicians' stands, considering these tunes were a good 80 years old, and the band could play them in their sleep. Maybe there were stage directions - "Look interested to be here," "Smile to the audience," or "Order Doordash for the bus ride to Savannah."No matter what, it was a swell show in a cozy venue with cushy seats, amiable staff, and acoustics that did justice to the classics. All in all, a night of toe-tapping tunes and "We'll Beat the Nazis" style nostalgia.”

“Dock Street Theatre is classy and elegant with rich history and architecture making its location very special. Clue was a professional, entertaining, and meaningful performance and the acoustics were vibrant and unburdened by outside noise. We love that Dock Street Theatre is small because it gives you the feeling of being kept close to the performance.”

“The location of this hotel can't be beat, it is close enough to King street to be in the heart of the city, but far enough down the block to avoid the street noise. The rooms were large and lovely, with small kitchenettes. We appreciated the breakfast baskets every morning as well. We didn't spend much time in the hotel, but the lobby, coffeeshop and rooftop restaurant all looked great.”

“Outstanding! We wanted an elegant, intimate setting for our son’s Rehearsal Dinner and it was a perfect fit. The food was excellent, the servers were attentive and most importantly the bride and groom were thrilled! Shout out to Rachel who made sure every detail was accomplished.”

“For our first night in Charleston we had Chef Danny assisted by Monica prepare dinner on site at our Airbnb. The food was spectacular and the service excellent! Everything was so well prepared and working with Kaitlyn at Halls was a delight. I highly recommend Halls Signature Events and we will happily use them again when we return to Charleston.”

“I have been a member of the Harbour Club for almost 15 years, at the old location and at the new location. It is a private club, but it has always been a great club and a great place for networking and having meetings and dinners with business associates, but the current location, staff, chef, and atmosphere is by far the best it has ever been. There is always a smile and a friendly greeting from the whole staff and the servers are great! The new chef has done a great job and recently upgraded the menus. Views from the club are outstanding, especially the sunset over the Ashley River. My wife and I have recently joined the wine club and really enjoy the wine tastings. They have live music on Fridays, special events throughout the year, kids activities and they support the community with their "Cocktails For a Cause" events. Whether you are looking for a place to do some work in quiet workspaces, attend a great happy hour, or want to network and have a place to take business associates, you should consider the Harbour Club. You will not be disappointed!”

“Really neat venue in Avondale area. There are people renting spaces doing yoga, massage, facials. There is a stage where programs and entertainment can take place. A conference room...multipurpose facility. And a cute little outdoor area with Greek food truck.”

“I had the opportunity to dine and go to a few events at the D.I. club and enjoyed it thoroughly. But I am only going to review the golf experiences I have had there, as this review would soon resemble a novel, if I were to put to words how enjoyable the clubs other attributes are. The 18 hole "Ralston Creek" is an exciting 18 hole regulation course, where you need to step up your game a notch, if not these 2 courses will cut you in half.. From the longest tees, the course plays to about 7,446 yards of golf for a par of 72, that my friends is about current U.S.OPEN length, with a lower slope rating though.course rating is 74.4 with a slope rating of 134. The Nationwide tour still hosts an event here and truthfully, if there were the room for bleachers, concessions and transportation. With a few weeks work to narrow the fairways and toughen up the greens, I believe the PGA could host an event here, it is that good. The course was designed by Rees Jones and opened in 2006. The 18-hole "Beresford Creek" course at the Daniel Island Club features 7,093 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 . This is the older of the two courses and opened around 2000.The course rating at Beresford Creek is 74.4 and it has a slope rating of 134, so it plays shorter, but no less difficult.”

“I can't say enough about my wedding day! The shrimp tacos are literally something that I crave!!! My guests are still talking about the food and wanting more. The staff was absolutely amazing and I can't thank them enough for taking such care of us.”

“Have been there many times over the years with clients for dinner and to play golf. I have sold a lot of houses in Daniel Island Park too. It is really hard to beat the Daniel Island Club amenities, service quality of food and golf.We played in a charity golf tournament on Monday. Service was top shelf. Golf course unfortunately is in really bad shape due to the harsh winter we had. All the fairways on the course I played were dead. They will be replanting them soon and I’m sure it will be back up to par quickly.”

“The Grand Bohemian Charleston is a jewel located Downtown on Wentworth St. The building is gorgeous with refined, local artwork displayed all around and even a gallery you can view. On check in we were helped by Noah who was the picture of professionalism and so courteous. Check in was a breeze and we even received complimentary champagne to sip while we got comfy in our room. Our accommodation was also exquisite. A spacious corner room awaited us with a plush bed and lovely lounge chair. The bathroom was lovely too. A toilet completely separate from the shower and the shower was filled with lovely tile. I’m excited to book here again and I will be exploring this hotel even further!”

“The Woodlands Nature Reserve on Ashley River Road is a great place to experience nature and explore with fresh air, trails, water, and much more. I really like the space and how much there is to see and do here. It is not that far from everything to be able to get away and enjoy some quiet. Well worth the visit.”

“We had a great stay. The room was clean and comfortable and we were 10 minutes away from all the attractions. A couple of the front desk attendants were super nice and helpful. One not so much but she was decent at least. I would stay again.”

“Popped in for drinks. Bar seems efficient, but one of the few specialty cocktails on the menu (The Ghost) was disappointing. Why use cayenne when you could do a salted rim with chili pepper flakes? Atmosphere is energetic & loud.”

“Love it here! But it’s more worth the experience if you get a vip section. I always get VIP with the bottle server Mikayla and she is the absolute best! Always makes sure my group is having a good time and recommends the best bottles for our occasions. definitely ask for her if you find your way to Aura!!”
