“After three nights at The Spectator Hotel, I can confidently say this is our favorite hotel we've stayed at in any US city, and we will absolutely be coming back!

Our butlers David and Jim were fantastic, genuinely attentive and went above and beyond for anything we needed. The valets James and Tyler were great too. When our room wasn't ready, they stored our bags without a second thought and gave us some amazing BBQ recommendations while we waited. Such a nice touch!

The location is spot on. It's on a quiet block but still walking distance to King Street, so you get easy access to everything without the noise.

If you're visiting Charleston, just stay here. The hospitality is the real deal.”

“Been here so many times for so many different concerts and events. Seatings may be a little cramped, but they do accommodate for handicapped and disabled people. This is a cozy little place, friendly staff, parking maybe a little challenging, but overall a very pleasant place to visit.”

“Everyone from beginning to end was wonderful. Thank you Rachel for explaining the venue and helping me envision the welcome dinner event. Thank you Olivia for answering all my questions about the event space and providing menu suggestions, and also all you did on the day of the event to make sure everything was set up and all went smoothly. We got so many compliments on the food and the venue!”

“Let's talk fantastic! This is a small theatre and there really isn't a bad seat in the place. The 25 to 26 year we have seen four productions and each one of them has been fabulous! There is an easy garage to park at with a short walk up Church street. The staff working at the theatre are all lovely and helpful. The seats are comfortable. But the productions! Amazing. We just saw Spelling Bee and every cast member knocked it out of the park. Singing was amazing, acting was fantastic, and the laughs we had. It was just a great time. I would highly recommend if you can see a show there to go!!!”

“The William Aiken House was the perfect venue for our daughter’s wedding. The historic home and stunning grounds created a truly breathtaking setting, and the ability to use both indoor and outdoor spaces was ideal. Although we had our own planner, the planning staff at WAH was exceptionally communicative and professional.

And then there is the food and service—simply out of this world. I have attended many weddings over the years, and I can honestly say I have never experienced better food at a wedding. You typically attend weddings expecting the dinner to be “just okay.” Not here. Every single bite was exceptional, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The service was equally remarkable—professional, gracious, attentive, and flawless from start to finish.

The William Aiken House exceeded every expectation we had and created an unforgettable experience not just for our daughter and son-in-law, but for every guest in attendance.”

“I had the opportunity to dine and go to a few events at the D.I. club and enjoyed it thoroughly. But I am only going to review the golf experiences I have had there, as this review would soon resemble a novel, if I were to put to words how enjoyable the clubs other attributes are. The 18 hole "Ralston Creek" is an exciting 18 hole regulation course, where you need to step up your game a notch, if not these 2 courses will cut you in half.. From the longest tees, the course plays to about 7,446 yards of golf for a par of 72, that my friends is about current U.S.OPEN length, with a lower slope rating though.course rating is 74.4 with a slope rating of 134. The Nationwide tour still hosts an event here and truthfully, if there were the room for bleachers, concessions and transportation. With a few weeks work to narrow the fairways and toughen up the greens, I believe the PGA could host an event here, it is that good. The course was designed by Rees Jones and opened in 2006. The 18-hole "Beresford Creek" course at the Daniel Island Club features 7,093 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 . This is the older of the two courses and opened around 2000.The course rating at Beresford Creek is 74.4 and it has a slope rating of 134, so it plays shorter, but no less difficult.”

“We also had such a great experience with the catering at Patriots Point Golf Course through Good Food Catering. The food on our wedding day was incredible, and so many of our guests told us it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, which made the entire experience feel even more special.

Anna was so kind and informative when walking us through all of the catering options. She made the process easy and helped us choose what would work best for our vision and our guests. We decided on a scoop-your-own buffet (non-chef attended), which allowed everyone to get as much as they wanted, and it worked phenomenally well. It kept the line moving and made guests feel comfortable going back for seconds.

The bar service was also amazing. The staff was friendly, efficient, and kept everything running smoothly all night. We brought our own cups, and they had no problem using them, which was such a nice and accommodating touch. Overall, we couldn’t have been happier and would absolutely recommend their catering and bar services to anyone!”

“This is such a great place for kids! Traveling from out of town, it was a great way to be active during the rainy weather. They also cater to adults, offering drink options for purchase and a comfortable atmosphere for everyone to unwind and have a good time. My 1 year old loved it, we will definitely revisit when we come back to town!”

“An upscale hotel in the heart of Charleston. Lots of eateries, shopping, and local artisan jems within walking distance. The city offers free transportation, and due to the congestion at times, I would recommend taking advantage of it. The hotel has some historical architecture, but the rooms are very modern. The rooms offer blackout curtains, a separate water closet, complete with bidet! Oh, and did I mention we had our own private balcony overlooking the courtyard. The courtyard is inviting and a great place for a late evening beverage. I jane read reviews with complaints about the required valet parking, but as busy as it is, I would say it is worth the money.”

“We booked The Warren Room for our wedding rehearsal dinner on 10/11/24 and had a fantastic experience! Michael was so great to work with getting all of the details and menu items figured out ahead of time. We are locals and absolutely love the food at Stella's and were so pleased with how everything turned out. Great food, excellent service, and the space + balcony was just so beautiful! Highly recommend for private events! Thanks guys for a great night!”

“Have been there many times over the years with clients for dinner and to play golf. I have sold a lot of houses in Daniel Island Park too. It is really hard to beat the Daniel Island Club amenities, service quality of food and golf.We played in a charity golf tournament on Monday. Service was top shelf. Golf course unfortunately is in really bad shape due to the harsh winter we had. All the fairways on the course I played were dead. They will be replanting them soon and I’m sure it will be back up to par quickly.”

“Pure vibes and lots of fun ! Definitely coming back here next year . Wonderful venue which used to be called magnolia hall if anyone is wondering. It’s a great rental space and ample free parking on premises . I would suggest turning on the approximate street instead of on the main road as it bottle necks”

“I couldn't be happier that we chose this hotel for our first visit to Charleston. Our room was perfect and the hotel was quiet. I love that The Rise Coffee Bar is attached. The daily breakfast basket was a treat even when we went out for breakfast. Having some fruit or a breakfast pastry to start the day off was great. I asked for extra popcorn and Coca-Cola, and both were expeditiously provided. We requested rides to the aquarium and African American Museum on different days, and Matthew, the guest experience manager, was gracious in driving us to our destinations at the exact times we were hoping for. The location of the hotel - right off King Street - was so perfect. We averaged about 12k steps per day exploring the shops, historic landmarks, museums and restaurants. The bathtub in our room was perfectly slanted. I would love to come back to this hotel!”

“My wife and I came down for the weekend for her birthday, the staff went above and beyond to make it as special as possible. Shay at valet was helpful and whoever ordered the chocolate covered strawberry’s for us deserves a raise!”

“The Woodlands Nature Reserve on Ashley River Road is a great place to experience nature and explore with fresh air, trails, water, and much more. I really like the space and how much there is to see and do here. It is not that far from everything to be able to get away and enjoy some quiet. Well worth the visit.”

“I just wish that there had been enough parking at the hotel. I had to park in the parking garage across the street. Thank goodness it doesn't cost anything if you take your parking ticket and get it validated at the front desk.”
