“We spent 4 nights in a Deluxe King room at the French Quarter Inn in March. What a great hotel! The location is perfect, walking distance to everything! The breakfast was excellent. We opted for room service each morning as our room had a view of St Philip's church. The room was clean - the bathroom was large - beautiful facility. We also enjoyed the evening happy hour offered by the hotel. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful. We also went on a walking tour offered by the hotel with a local guide, Skip Evans. He was excellent and I highly recommend it. The Inn also had bicycles for use but we decided walking was in our best interest! I would highly recommend staying at the French Quarter Inn - you won't be disappointed.”

“After three nights at The Spectator Hotel, I can confidently say this is our favorite hotel we've stayed at in any US city, and we will absolutely be coming back!
Our butlers David and Jim were fantastic, genuinely attentive and went above and beyond for anything we needed. The valets James and Tyler were great too. When our room wasn't ready, they stored our bags without a second thought and gave us some amazing BBQ recommendations while we waited. Such a nice touch!
The location is spot on. It's on a quiet block but still walking distance to King Street, so you get easy access to everything without the noise.
If you're visiting Charleston, just stay here. The hospitality is the real deal.”
“This hotel is amazing! Overall wonderful experience, very clean, beautiful rooms. Great location. Be sure to visit with Tasha during the breakfast hours, she is the best!!”

“We stayed at Zero George for our anniversary and we absolutely loved our stay here. The property was beautifully maintained and is a great place for couples to stay. The location of the property is another great added advantage as well as it is very easy to either walk or bike to downtown Charleston. From the general hospitality, to extremely quick and prompt responses to any requests from our own end and the little touches such as cookies as soon as we arrived, to a luggage tag souvenir at the end when we were leaving the place made sure we will remember Zero George for a long time. Lastly, the breakfast also deserves an honorable mention as it was extremely fresh and tasty.”

“Although we did not check into this hotel, we did walk-through as part of our downtown experience. Absolutely beautiful hotel. Good parking. Would love to check in at some time.”
“We stayed at The Vendue 2/11 - 2/15/2026, and it was a lovely experience. The hotel is decorated throughout with many eye-catching modern art pieces. If modern art is not your thing, don't let this stop you from booking a stay! We stayed in Room 309, which was clean, comfortable, and spacious (we are used to European-sized hotel rooms, so it seemed quite large for the two of us). But the thing that really sets The Vendue apart is the service. Check-in was a very pleasant experience, where we were greeted with glasses of prosecco and made to feel very welcome. Everyone employee we encountered was kind, gracious, and helpful. The location is also a plus - steps away from the beautiful Waterpark, and there is also a DASH stop nearby, making it easy to take advantage of the very good public transportation. We were able to easily walk or ride the DASH to every attraction we wished to visit. We will definitely return to this hotel on our next trip to Charleston.”

“An upscale hotel in the heart of Charleston. Lots of eateries, shopping, and local artisan jems within walking distance. The city offers free transportation, and due to the congestion at times, I would recommend taking advantage of it. The hotel has some historical architecture, but the rooms are very modern. The rooms offer blackout curtains, a separate water closet, complete with bidet! Oh, and did I mention we had our own private balcony overlooking the courtyard. The courtyard is inviting and a great place for a late evening beverage. I jane read reviews with complaints about the required valet parking, but as busy as it is, I would say it is worth the money.”
“I couldn't be happier that we chose this hotel for our first visit to Charleston. Our room was perfect and the hotel was quiet. I love that The Rise Coffee Bar is attached. The daily breakfast basket was a treat even when we went out for breakfast. Having some fruit or a breakfast pastry to start the day off was great. I asked for extra popcorn and Coca-Cola, and both were expeditiously provided. We requested rides to the aquarium and African American Museum on different days, and Matthew, the guest experience manager, was gracious in driving us to our destinations at the exact times we were hoping for. The location of the hotel - right off King Street - was so perfect. We averaged about 12k steps per day exploring the shops, historic landmarks, museums and restaurants. The bathtub in our room was perfectly slanted. I would love to come back to this hotel!”

“Our first time in Charleston. This location was amazing. All popular tourist stops are within walking distance. The popular shopping district is literally around the corner. We had a 3rd floor room, it was not what I picked on Orbitz, but we are not overly fussy. It was definitely smaller than I picked. But it was comfortable and cool from the heat. The amount of extras they provide is unreal. The snacks, light refreshments, and amazing breakfast. I would highly recommend!”

“My wife and I stayed here earlier this year to celebrate her birthday in downtown Charleston - the staff was wonderful and the location made it easy to get to and from all the sights of the city.
While everything about the stay was great, what stood out to us most was the kindness of the team working there. When we returned from dinner, we found a charcuterie board, a fruit tray, and a bottle of wine in our room, accompanied by a note from the team wishing my wife a happy birthday! Not many hotels will go to such efforts for guests, and it clearly shows that the team truly cares for the guests who stay there. We’ll definitely be visiting this hotel again!”

“We stayed at the Planters Inn at Charleston recently, it was fabulous, the staff are some of the best we have encountered on our East Coast tour. The rooms are excellent, the decor and furniture give an elegant feel. The restaurant and bar area are also excellent, with both interior and El Fresco dining. Highly recommend the Planters Inn if you're seeking a relaxing break with a touch of class.”

“We stayed at the Charleston Chestnut in early December and it was a simply lovely A plus experience. Perfectly located in downtown Charleston, we stayed in the Steeple Suite but we were with family so we were able to see all of the units; and all were very, very attractive, well appointed and extremely clean. Also, the beds were very comfortable with luxe linens and bedding and the bath rooms were well stocked with high end products and sumptuous towels. The kitchens were all extremely clean, and included any appliance and or utensil you would need. The owner/manager, Andrea, was very responsive, professional, lovely and accommodating. Although all of our needs were more than met, she made it clear she was on hand and available if anything may have arisen. Probably the best vacation rental we've ever experienced!”

“I had an awesome stay here! Comfy bed, decent-looking room with good AC. Room had some things that could see some repairs, such as a paintless spot or two on the wall, but otherwise nothing profound enough to impact the quality of my stay. Also really enjoyed the free wine/cheese and the milk/cookie receptions that they offered, as well as the proximity of the inn to the Charleston City Market and other neat attractions downtown!”
“Best location in town, good rooms for the price but be prepared for unimpressive front desk staff and breakfast staff. Pour rooftop service and view makes up for what the ground floor is lacking.”
“I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff was incredibly polite and attentive, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The room was cozy, and the added touches, like complimentary coffee, made the experience even better. The location is convenient, and overall, it’s a great place to relax and enjoy your trip. Highly recommend!”

“We enjoyed a stellar stay at the Market Pavilion Hotel. Great classic hotel ambience. Luxe Lobby vibe. The paneled Dining Room and Bar facing the old federal Custom House is something that architecture aficionados will adore. Dining Room meal and service were memorable. Continental Breakfast Bar steps from room. Comfy robes and slippers...speaking my language! And to top it all off, they found and sent back my husband's iWatch charger, which he had left behind. Personable and responsive staff. A first class establishment all the way. Old world charm and service. Highly recommend!”

“The wife and I spent Memorial Day weekend at the Emeline celebrating a friend’s Coast Guard retirement, and despite a few unexpected maintenance hurdles, the staff truly went above and beyond.
We experienced an AC issue the first night and, the following night, a leaking fire sprinkler head over the bed. After notifying the front desk, Nicole S., Than H., Ramona, and Rachael were incredibly apologetic and took immediate action to make things right. Michael from Maintenance also worked diligently to resolve both issues as quickly as possible.
Although we had to temporarily relocate rooms the second night, the team ensured we did not have to fully pack up and move all of our belongings, allowing us to stay focused on enjoying the celebration weekend with friends.
The outstanding customer service, professionalism, and dedication from the staff truly saved our weekend. We also loved the hotel’s location and atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back the next time we visit Charleston!”

“We stayed at the Elliott House Inn at the end of June. It was an excellent experience and one we’d highly recommend to anyone visiting Charleston. The room was great, bed was clean and comfortable, and bathroom was nice with the slight exception that the water pressure in the shower was a bit weak. There is also no room service during your stay. The location is excellent and right near all of the main parts of downtown Charleston, this was the best part. They also had free wine and cheese on the patio every evening which was awesome, especially with their great patio and lounge furniture. The staff was also very kind and welcoming, especially Neil and Ashley who helped us with whatever we needed. Overall, definitely recommend for anyone coming to Charleston!”

“I want to thank my looooong lost cousins TYRESE and AMURA JOHNSON along with the cleaning staff for making an old broke down teacher's week-long stay oh so comfortable! After spending an entire school year picking up and cleaning after high schoolers, it was so nice to return to a clean and quiet room. They even took care of my travel companion, FRANK (as pictured). I am not ashamed. Plushies are for grownups, too. My name is Weslica Johnson-ROCK. I am here attending the Citadel's CSPD Week 2026 and I approve this hotel!”

“Easy location to get too, front desk staff are incredibly nice. I will definitely stay here again. Only reason for 4 stars not 5 is the rooms are a bit older with cheap furniture. That being said they definitely are clean and well put together. No complaints, just room for slight improvement!”
“It does what it is supposed to do. The room was simple, the breakfast was very basic (waffles, yogurt or cereal), the overall is simple and dated. The bed was firm, but the sheets were surprisingly nice and soft. We need a place to sleep and that's what we got. The Waffle House nextdoor is handy and telling.”

“Absolutely LOVED this hotel! We booked it last minute and had an incredible room above the Lowland restaurant. It was spacious and clean and felt extremely comfortable. The staff was amazing, courteous and always helpful when planning activities. They have a delicious complimentary breakfast which felt like a really nice touch. Also the location cannot be beat!! We would definitely return!”
