“The Spectator Hotel is the epitome of elegance and luxury, yet feels like home, in the heart of Charleston's French Quarter. I chose this hotel due to its central location and top-tier reviews, but felt I should also include a review so all travelers can indulge in one of the best stays I've had in a while. From the moment I arrived, through the time I departed (4 nights), I was enveloped in an atmosphere of refinement and treated like a queen. My room was comfortable and impeccably clean, inclusive of the most luxurious amenities, and a lavishly-stocked mini-bar (complimentary and refilled daily). I rested so comfortably in soft bamboo bedding, enjoyed using my large sumptuous marble bathroom (all bath products included), and enjoyed the most scrumptious breakfasts that were delivered daily to my room (complimentary with your stay and upscale-- not at all a "regular" hotel breakfast as these were one of the highlights of my trip). The service here far exceeded my expectations. Every morning, Darrell greeted me with the kindest "Good morning!" as he delivered the breakfast tray to the room. I always chose an early delivery time and his daily greetings, paired with the delicious breakfasts, started my day off beautifully. This left a profound impact on me-- not many are as kind and helpful at that hour as everyone is at this hotel. Darrell is one of a kind. From the front desk staff, housekeepers, bartenders, and dining team-- to the concierge, butlers appointed to each room (truly "at your service"), and the hotel manager-- I could sing praises all day long of the world-class service received here.If hotel management reads this review, I hope they will ensure that the scrumptious cordials continue to be left for guests in each room during turn-down service, keep every item on the breakfast menu, and keep offering the drink on the bar menu that was serviced with coconut foam on top. I could not stop thinking of these past my stay! Delightful! One can also rent a bike to use around town, pick up a local paper daily, enjoy fresh fruit and chocolate when coming in/out of the property, ask for guidance on what there is to do in Charleston, et al, all compliments of the hotel.Needless to say, I will return! Highly recommend.”

“we had an absolutely lovely time at Zero George. We only had time to stay for one night to celebrate my husbands birthday and the whole Zero George team went out of their way to make sure we had a really special (if short) stay. From the welcoming check in where we were offered a map of things to do around the city as well as personal restaurant recommendations to the complimentary wine and cheese hour with a super friendly bartender holiday decorations and of course the cozy breakfast in the morning with warmed coffee mugs and fresh pastries every moment was completely delightful. The rooms have high ceilings and unique decorations that feel elegant without being stuffy. Unfortunately it was a little rainy for us but we were able to sit out on our veranda for a glass of wine on the covered porch. The whole stay we felt like we never had to lift a finger. The bags were taken care of, bottles of water everywhere, every question had an answer. I can’t say enough good things about our experience, I would be back in a heartbeatWalkability: It’s walkable to the busiest parts of the city but tucked away in a tranquil corner for maximum relaxation”

“An exceptional experience from start to finish! Our recent Leadership Conference at the French Quarter Inn/Spectator Hotel exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we stepped through the doors, the ambiance was inviting, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. The conference facilities were top-notch, providing everything we needed for a productive and successful event. The meeting rooms were spacious, well-equipped with modern technology, and maintained at the perfect temperature for comfort throughout the day.One standout feature was the impeccable catering service. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks were all provided with a diverse selection that catered to various dietary needs. The quality and presentation of the food were simply outstanding, receiving rave reviews from all attendees. My compliments to the chef and their team.Despite the rigorous schedule of all-day meetings, the staff ensured that our needs were met promptly and with a smile. Their professionalism and dedication to customer satisfaction truly made a difference in our overall experience.Additionally, the hotel's accommodations were luxurious and provided a comfortable retreat after a long day of meetings. The rooms were spacious, impeccably clean, and appointed with all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay.Overall, our conference at the French Quarter Inn/Spectator Hotel was a resounding success, thanks in large part to the exceptional service and facilities provided by the hotel staff, but in particular Jessica Bowman, the Area Director, who I worked closely with to arrange everything and Lynn Maher who was our Banquet Captain & Events Manager. Both were extremely accommodating - no ask was too big. They handled my every request (and I had quite a few) with a quick response and a skilled efficiency. It was truly my pleasure to work with these ladies. I highly recommend this hotel for any conference or event and look forward to returning in the future.”

“The location of this hotel can't be beat, it is close enough to King street to be in the heart of the city, but far enough down the block to avoid the street noise. The rooms were large and lovely, with small kitchenettes. We appreciated the breakfast baskets every morning as well. We didn't spend much time in the hotel, but the lobby, coffeeshop and rooftop restaurant all looked great.”

“First ever and last ever review.. If you know you know. Long and short of it, this hotel is immaculate. Butler service, gourmet breakfast daily to the room, arrival cocktail's, complimentary mini fridge and one of the chillest, casual classy lounges I've been to. Imagine Johnny Cash, Karl Lagerfeld and Dean Martin opened a bar then hired the Kennedy's to Manage the hotel”

“Me and my husband spent our NYE at the Loutrel and we had an incredible time! Our highlights: clean and modern room, the bathroom cabinets?, amazing espresso machine in the room, homemade granola at breakfast, rooftop for charming views, live music and fantastic eats and drinks at the Veranda Lounge all at a more than reasonable price! All of the staff were kind and helpful, the manager Karl was exceptional and made sure we enjoyed our stay to the fullest extent possible. “This is a gem! It's a beautiful inn with friendly staff. They had wine and cheese in the lobby the afternoon we arrived, followed by hot cocoa and cookies before turning in for the night. In the morning, they have breakfast until 10. The rooms were beautiful. We slept in a room with two double canopied beds. The location is perfect and within walking distance to the market, shops and many restaurants. They have a beautiful outside courtyard that has a large jaccuzi and tables where you can bring food or drinks to. They valet your car for you, which is wonderful. I highly recommend this inn.”

“This hotel has an excellent location for walking around the city, a warm atmosphere, and outstanding service. I left something there and they shipped it back to me immediately. The front desk provision of a map and verbal tour of the city was also fantastic and helpful guidance.I didn’t go to the main restaurant but did try the coconut cake which is worth traveling for alone.”

“The Grand Bohemian Charleston is a jewel located Downtown on Wentworth St. The building is gorgeous with refined, local artwork displayed all around and even a gallery you can view. On check in we were helped by Noah who was the picture of professionalism and so courteous. Check in was a breeze and we even received complimentary champagne to sip while we got comfy in our room. Our accommodation was also exquisite. A spacious corner room awaited us with a plush bed and lovely lounge chair. The bathroom was lovely too. A toilet completely separate from the shower and the shower was filled with lovely tile. I’m excited to book here again and I will be exploring this hotel even further!”

“We have stayed here twice and love it! Fantastic location, great price and very responsive. The Chestnut of Charleston is our "go to"for our trips to Charleston. We have stayed in the Sailboat Suite, which has plenty of room for many adults. You will not be disappointed.”

“This is a very quaint Inn, located downtown and close to everything you want to see in Charleston. I wish I could give it a great review, but the reason why one selects a hotel is to have a restful stay, and Pinckney Inn failed miserably. We booked a Suite for three nights and paid a premium for it. What we did not know was that it shared a thin wall with their service kitchen, and we were awakened at 5:45 a.m. EVERY MORNING to the clatter as they prepared the continental breakfast. We complained on the first morning, and were told they had no other accommodations. They absolutely should NOT rent this suite. Terrible.Food & drinks: The cocktail hour and breakfast were just "okay". Nothing great at all. The hot food at breakfast on morning one was tasteless. On morning two it was the same food, with a lot of cheese melted on top. The servers, however, were friendly and kind.”

“This is a modern, trendy hotel with very cosy and chic rooms. Situation in Charleston is great. The room has storing space to dream of and is very quiet. Staff was professional, friendly and most helpful.Their restaurant Hank's across the street is worth going to. Delicious and we had a terrific waiter.”

“We enjoyed our stay...the rooms are nice and clean, the staff very friendly and helpful....here comes the "but". The pictures of the place at 171 Spring shows a porch with chairs and a swing. There is no porch. That's the house next door. My husband is disabled and we assumed the porch was a common area it's in the pictures on their page, but it belongs to the house next door. He didn't go everywhere I did because he can't walk far, he was looking forward to sitting outside on the porch when I wasn't there. Our grandson is a student at The Citadel and it's a great location to stay and go back and forth for events...about a mile away. We stayed in the pink room, one bedroom, kitchen and bath. For those who aren't fit or have a handicap, 19 steep steps lead you to your room. Our parking also was across the street behind a building with a VERY narrow driveway, building on one side fence on the other. My car buzzed my butt all the way through, about 6 inches on each side of my suv to spare! It is a nice place. I just wanted to add details that many may find important. One more detail, it's on the corner by a stop light at a very busy intersection.”

“I booked a trip with three days notice in a city I had never been to, so I wasn't sure if I picked a " good" hotel.. It was wonderful! Everything from a late night check in (after midnight), to the location (right on the corner with city market, food, and shopping within walking distance), the service & hospitality, and even sneaking us in to the delicious steak restaurant with no notice. The front desk staff was to notch! They remembered our names all throughout our stay and welcomed us as we came and went all weekend. Better yet, we left something behind and they were kind enough to find it and ship it to us! I would recommend this lovely hotel to any friend- and that goes for you too!If we ever make our way back to Charleston- I hope to stay here again.”

“You have to love the location and comfort of this "everything like new" accommodation. What was especially exceptional, was the way the Manager handled the problem when the internet went out for the weekend. Definitely will stay again knowing how professional this operation runs and feels.”

“Very horrible service says in bright red letters 18+ hotel room. But upon arrival they said it was 25+ but had no signs or warnings posted online. Do not go is a scamNearby activities: In horrible location to get to and in dangerous neighborhood”

“My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights while celebrating our anniversary. We loved it! The room was quaint and just what we were looking for, and even had a little patio outside our room as well. The courtyard is so cute to enjoy happy hour. The location is a prime spot as well, right between two great restaurants, and easily walkable throughout the town. The staff made our stay easy. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others visiting Charleston.”
