Shipping across the country takes two days but shipping from a town 2 hours from me takes a full week and a day. What on earth??

The last package I got that went through this facility took a little side trip up to Springfield, MA. It was a couple of days late, but it did finally arrive. I live about 70 miles away from there, in SC.
