“We've stayed at several different resorts on HHI, and this is our new favorite. From the gate greeter to the front desk to the maintenance and activity staff, everyone was friendly and super helpful. We were there at the end of February & the weather was lousy, but we did get in the pool & hot tub once and even got to eat at the pool bar. Our 3rd floor unit in the Live Oak building was perfect, near the front desk, pools, and a quick walk to the beach. Thrilled that we got a partial view of the ocean, since real ocean facing units at HHI resorts are very scarce. Unit was clean & everything worked (had a little trouble rebooting the icemaker, a common problem with Samsungs I guess.) We were in the main bedroom & our friends had the guest bedroom, very comfortable. Have to mention the layout of the bath in the main BR, loved it! Walk in shower, double sinks, separate toilet area, and a built in motion sensor nitelite. We couldn't possibly do all the activities, but there seemed to be something for everyone; couples, families, kids etc. We will definitely be back!Noteworthy details: Garden side units are a good 5 minute walk from the beach. Pool area there seems geared to kids, other pools are more adult friendly, being close to the bar. You also have access to The Westin property if you want more options for dining & drinking.”

“Love Marriott Monarch. Been going there for years. It is quiet and relaxing. The ocean is a very short walk away. The beach was busy but not crowded and there were plenty of spaces available to set up umbrella, chairs and towles. Remember to bring a sun shade and sunscreen so you don't burn.The reason I gave 3 stars instead of 4: this was the very first time we were given the wrong room number to our room key on the paper that directs you to the villa. It was quite a walk to go back and sort it out, then walk all the way back to the correct villa. Whew! The check in staff also forgot to give us wrist bands for the pool area. We were questioned by the pool monitor and went back to guest services for them. Oh, and the room service staff forgot to give us the small travel size dish soap we are used to getting as part of the normal kitchen essentials. These were small inconveniences and were not our reflective of our normal experiences over the years. Other than that, our stay was wonderful & relaxing.Retuned to Monarch several months later, in October. Excellent service. Heated pool is wonderful. Temperature is great. Ocean water is on the chilly side.”

“What an amazing location. You can’t beat it. Just feet away from a gorgeous beach that leads to the Calibogue Sound. Just right across the street from a quaint cafe and across the Main Street is access to a fantastic park for the kids and wonderful restaurants. On top of all that we were right next to the light house and the dock where we met our captain that took us on a ferry ride over to Daufuskie Island. One of our top destinations now for a vacation.Walkability: Close to every shop, cafe, restaurants and so much more!”

“The fitness center is probably the best amenity of the whole resort. Plenty of equipment and room to workout. Although the ceiling of the pool is and eye sore, and according to the reviews it has been like that for years, with some kind of foamy looking insulation or something covering it. Anyway other than that, great place to workout!”

“We will be back! My wife and I wanted to experience Disney Hilton Head Island Resort and give it a try, but we assumed that it would be a "one-and-done" visit. NOPE! The Disney cast members are amazing, and there is so much to do at the resort. My kids enjoyed the Beach House and learned to play bocce ball at the resort. The on-site food choices are great and do not break the bank. General Manager Joe has an amazing staff including Ann at the front desk, Jennifer in activities/entertainment, Lauren in the gift shop, and the best Mousekeepers!”
