“The River House is a luxurious and beautiful venue with Lowcountry charm - wonderful ambiance! We enjoyed four fabulous courses, beginning with the Hamachi, and the Yellowfin Tuna Duo, on to the Lobster Bisque and Wedge Salad, and on to the Rainbow Trout and the A5 Wagyu. We finished up with the C4 (essentially, Death by Chocolate). It was all excellent. I particularly enjoyed the Wagyu, which, while only 2 ounces, was a taste sensation with its Yakiniku sauce. We completed the evening with a nightcap in the Hush Speakeasy in the basement. We had a wonderful evening and will soon return!”

“Escape from reality. This place is absolutely amazing. Beautiful scenery, great service, plenty of activities. It’s the perfect escape for the whole family. “Do NOT stay here. We booked this place on Expedia because reviews were decent enough, but I honestly don’t know how people are saying it’s nice and clean.Let me first stay this review is not about the front desk staff, as they were pleasant and did their job.However, the rooms themselves are horrible. We booked a room for christmas eve and were given 122. The place looked like it had barely been cleaned — towel racks were coming off the wall, the nightstand was sticky and dirty, AC unit had frayed wires hanging out the bottom, sitting chair arm was ripped, and floor was stained and dirty. It made me question if the beds were even clean due to the state of everything else. I’ve never complained about a hotel in my life as I stay at all the “normal places” (hampton inn, holiday inn etc..nothing fancy), but this was just unacceptable. We promptly left and booked a room at the Hampton Inn next door which is a thousand times better.Thankfully Expedia refunded us and the hotel gave us back the pet fee.The manager of this place needs to do a thorough inspection of all the rooms and get things repaired and cleaned. Don’t waste your money here.”
