“Usually a huge fan of Harris Teeter. They are one of the top chains in the area but today’s visit was a disappointment. My affinity for the chain is the reason for the score staying a 4 despite my experience the other day. I went in To grab a sandwich and there was no one at the sandwich counter but all hanging out over in the deli. I’m fairly certain they saw me, but it was obvious nobody wanted to make sandwiches that day. When I finally got tired of waiting and went over to get someone they said they would be over in a minute. Then I saw them all playing rock paper scissors to decide who got the misfortune of making me a sandwich. I was finally able to place my order only to find out that my first two choices of hot sandwich were not available that day and I had to settle for a cold turkey.You’re better then this Harris Teeter. ? Let’s focus on getting some management over the kids in these departments. If I wanted to experience uncontrolled teenage apathy I’d go to food lion.”

“This is the cutest local wine shops. The owner was the sweetest and so eager to help out. The shops is perfectly clean with a beautiful aesthetic. Great place nestled in old village. Check out the peep holes in the bathroom and the willie Nelson t shirts. Loved the dry white wines… we will be back very soon! Each visit is Berger than the last! We live it here!”

“Amazing!!! I called to see if there was anyway they could assemble a last minute charcuterie board to go and was literally blown away by the service, knowledge, and attention to detail!! I had no idea what I really wanted on the board, and Kirk talked me through several options for meats and cheeses and explained each one so beautifully!! You know how sometimes sommeliers and cheese mongers just come off as pretentious know it all snobs, and you leave feeling like you should have just microwaved yourself some frozen dino nuggets and had a capri sun? Not the case at Alchemist! I left with a little more knowledge of cheese, the most beautiful charcuterie platter, and a bottle of delicious Pinot noir! The shop was so cheery and bustling with happy customers, and I can’t wait to go back to eat at the bar!! 10/10 recommend!”

“My wife and I came into the Total wine to purchase wine for a red wine blind tasting birthday party. Ian, the store manger, helped us as we had no idea where to begin. Ian helped us pick 4 different varietals with the perfect old world versus new world wines within our budget. Ian was so passionate about wine you could tell it’s not a job for him. He found the hidden Jen’s! Ian made this experience so fun. We are excited to do the blind red wine tasting party in a few days! Thanks Ian and Total Wine!!!”

I like the location and they make it very easy to get in and out and be on your way with your selections. The store seems to be well stocked and I have always found exactly what I was looking for. “A fantastic first experience! Just happened to stumble in over the weekend exploring the plaza when I noticed the butcher shop. My wife and I were already looking to make a short rib ragu for Sunday dinner and the shop more than delivered in large part for the main necessary ingredients. Beef Short Ribs were freshly cut and packed, excellent wine selection we used in part for our braising liquid, and they even happened to have fresh pasta! Can’t forget the free smoked chicken wing I was offered and joyfully gobbled down. We will certainly be making a return visit in the near future.”
