If you want to see a real wild area with wild creatures including alligators this is where you can find them. Tread carefully. I almost stepped on a small alligator on the trail. Luckily it froze and I was able to cautiously snap a few photos. There were also turtles and herons. A good walking trail with no mud. Highly recommend this as an additional place attached to Magnolia plantation. Worth the extra fee.

So. Quiet. We love visiting here when we simply need some quiet time to get out and enjoy nature. If you like going for walks outdoors and enjoy wildlife, this is a great place to visit.

Fabulous hike through a remote, peaceful area of South Carolina.Flat terrain with expansive views all around for much of the hike.I was the only person there for a few hours on a Sunday morning. The road in and out is a little bumpy and quite narrow but if you drive slowly you'll be fine.

Got to join my son on his 7th grade field trip and the experience was such a nice treat! As an herbalist, it was awesome to hear how the staff and volunteers dedicate their time to creating and maintaining a sustainable ecosystem for so many creatures. Everyone was nice, knowledgeable and you could tell they really enjoy what they do. I’ll definitely be back!

Off the beaten path woodland preserve full of kid friendly educational trails and self guided wild life viewing! Trails are unpaved but wide and flat suitable for wagons or strollers or motorized wheelchairs. Short 3/4 mile trail was totally doable for my elementary age children in the summer heat, but I want to try the longer three mile hike in cooler weather. We'll definitely be going back!

I have only taken the one trail (Quail Trail) that takes you to the bluff. It was fun…. Except for getting caught in the rain. Rough terrain. Cool view off the bluff of Savannah River. Definitely want to see the other trails. There is also a pond at the entrance with built in binoculars.

Such a beautiful place for some peace and quiet while enjoying nature. It is well maintained! Lots of wildlife! Fish, frogs, butterflies, and so many birds. The water level is extremely low right now but hopefully some rain will help that soon!

I arrived as the manager of both facilities was leaving and had the 4000 acres to myself. Talk about silence. Not one bird sang and the wind was still. I walked the three mile loop to the Savannah River. Mostly 50 ft+ pines planted in very precise patterns. (I know, too many p’s) The trail was clearly marked and meticulously maintained. (m’s) Parking is excellent. The main compound is only accessible by a smooth sand/dirt road.

Forester Brandon gave me a fantabulous tour. I finally got to see the "Silver Bluff", at the end of Silver Bluff Rd. I learned alot of fun history tid-bits and enjoyed the 3 mile loop trail. His cutie-patootie dog, Harper, even joined us. I never knew the Savannah River used to have grand Mississippi River-style river boats. I even got to witness an unusual animal friendship, seeing a big white bird, just hanging out on a horse's back, at Stork Pond. What a great day!!!!!
