Overall great experience. My car was not “detailed” at pick up (the back was still dirty on the sides and back of seats not really vacuumed). I also would have liked someone to go over the car to show me the features. I think they dropped the ball a little on delivery.

Wow. Either the industry as a whole has adopted a stronger pro-business model recently, or the model in use at Myrtle Beach Carmax is unusually tough on customers these days. I bought my vehicle from this company about 13 months ago, and the trade-in value/offer given today on the same vehicle is less than 60% of the retail value then. I know retail price is not the same as trade-in value, but that's still RIDICULOUS. This former customer will use one of the many options later to buy my next auto. I highly recommend all readers to avoid Carmax. Think of the x in the name as meaning "NO!!".

Bought a 2021 Chevy Silverado from them last week.chris was helpful and went over everything thoroughly with me. They gave me better rates than the Chevy or Toyota dealers and they give me more than double the trade in value for my 2015 Nissan Pathfinder! The sale and paperwork that went along with it was fast and chris checked back in with me about 5 days later to see if I was enjoying the truck and if I had questions. Great customer service and absolutely love my new truck!

I just recently purchased a vehicle from here and I love the car and I had a great experience but there were some kinks. I was unsure about how the process of car shopping at CarMax works so here is a breakdown of my experience. I paid for my car to be transferred from Florida to South Carolina. The car was here within a couple of days, but I had not received a call to set up my appointment, so I reached out and the title was not shipped with the vehicle. I was worried that maybe it was lost because they were not too specific, but the title came in about a week after the car. They were still super nice and let me test drive the car and everything, but I could not purchase it without the title (of course). Once the title got in, I made an appointment to come in and do an express pickup which was so easy because you can do all the paperwork besides sign the documents before you go pick it up, the gentleman on the phone told me I could come in earlier if I was able to. My appointment was at 7 and I called at 3:30 to see if it was okay if I came within an hour or so, when I showed up everyone was confused because they were busy and they had a few sales people on their lunch break. I ended up waiting about an hour, but a gentleman came up to me and emailed me my paperwork so I could sign it and get on the road. From the time the paperwork was signed to the time I was on the road was about 10 minutes. I love my car and I was happy about how helpful they were. I loved the no haggle and no pressure, but keep in mind with this business strategy the experience is a lot less personalized. A sales person is not assigned to you, you could have a different one each time. I did not catch the name of the gentleman that helped me when I purchased the car, but Kevin helped me with my first test drive and he was so kind. I loved the no pressure aspect, but I do wish the communication was a little better. 5 stars from me. Thank you to all who helped me purchase my car.

CarMax made this experience completely stress free. From the moment I entered the dealership it was apparent that people who work there are happy and genuinely like each other. That says a lot about a business. They were cordial, helpful, polite, and easy to deal with. I would recommend them very highly to anyone I know.

This is the third car my husband and I have bought from CarMax of MB, SC. It is always an easy process with them. They make you comfortable and it just feels like "no pressure" kind of dealership. Chris was amazing. We felt like we have known him forever. He was courteous and helpful. We will be buying the next vehicle from CarMax of Myrtle Beach. 5 Stars plus!

From the moment I walked into CarMax, I was treated with kindness, professionalism, and respect. Every single person here made this experience a good one. This was extremely difficult for me (it was my husbands car and he just passed). They all knew this and gave me extra compassion and love. I cannot thank each and everyone for the way they handled everything about this. I am going to tell everyone about how easy they made this entire process.

Giving it a 2 star due to the fact that I found a vehicle I like but that is the only reason. Pay $200 to get it ship to Myrtle beach, was told it be here within a week. Got no updates. Second week comes nothing. 3 week comes saying it arrived this past friday. Today is Friday sept 22 going into 4 weeks because it is still not ready. One week and counting to get it ready. Was told the dumper was damaged but wasn't told that till i call and ask for an updated personally. I started this process to get in time before Saturday Sept 23 due to that fact I am driving out of town for the day. Today is sept 22th and still they can't give me a time frame. If i would have known that a week means a month or more from them, i wouldn't have even bother. I only selected Carmax because my sister had a great experiences with them as in quick and easy. This is absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. I understand car damage is not their fault however telling consumers within a week is untrue. I haven't had a car in 3 weeks going on 4 weeks so all this time is ridiculous.

Salesman was very helpful and patient! The fact that the minor fixes ended up in limbo for 2 weeks because the company they use services hundreds of cars. And had I known that I would have gotten the inspection and registration necessary in NC before having it serviced. So that ruined my total experience

It took a full week for the car we wanted to purchase to be delivered from Florence. Stopped in store to check on delivery on car twice during that week and no one seemed to have any information. Once the car was delivered we stopped by again and only then did we actually see the vehicle. Then waited 2 more days for it to be ready. Maybe we were anxious to actually get the car. In the end everything worked out fine. I have had the vehicle for one month and it is running well. I would purchase a car from them again. I may have been overly anxious/excited.

DO NOT!! So So So many issues. Long sorry short, mileage didn’t match. Jeep had 56k and they sold it as 58k. Lost time from work (2hrs) going back to do paperwork for that when we told the salesperson this and it was brushed off. We were told to let it go because we would get more on the 4,000 mile warranty BUT the tire sensor was off so when we took it in, they caught it. Should’ve been fixed when we bought the Jeep!! No excuse can fix that. Financed with CarMax on Sunday and had a check to them less than 24hrs from my personal bank to refinance. I just got a letter in the mail saying I owe my payment to CarMax. STEER CLEAR!!! If I didn’t already put money ie tint on windows, new headlights etc..I’d return it!

Anna is the BEST sales person I have ever worked with. I usually hate car dealership experience but she made everything so smooth and easy. I will 100% return every time to work with her. She deserves a promotion for her excellent work.

WONDERFUL SHOPPING AND BUYING EXPERIENCE! The sales department was closed, however the service department was open and had all of the vehicles open. They told me to look around, open up the vehicles and sit in them. I sat in all 8 Jeeps (Wranglers, Willy's, and Rubicons). It was the most relaxing experience I have ever had! The pre-approved financing and express check out was amazing as well. I may have spent a total of 1 1/2 hours of my time for the entire buying process! and they gave me a fair price for my trade!
