“I'm a 73 year old retired pastor whose owned many different makes of cars over the years, but never a Mazda. I was also in auto sales and management at two different dealerships back in Maine many years ago. Decided I wanted an AWD vehicle for when we travel back north to visit family. My wife and I like small to mid-size SUVs so I checked out the Mazda CX-5. Met Greg W. when I first went to the dealership. He was courteous, professional, and did everything right. When I was going there (Aug. 2023) the dealership was being run out of some trailers while their new showroom was being built. Even though that was a little inconvenient, their willingness to meet my needs and the great attitude they all had made everything easy. (Their new facility is now finished and is beautiful!)I decided to save some $$ (being retired now) and went with a new CX-30. It's a little smaller, mostly in the rear cargo area, but it fits me very well! I'm 6'2" tall. It's fun to drive, handles like a sports car but is truly an SUV. Has a great 2.5 liter engine with plenty of pep, and all the latest safety features.In the 20+ years we have lived in this area, buying a few new and used vehicles from different dealerships, my experience with Stokes Mazda in North Charleston has been the most pleasant I have had. Left my car with them about a month before I was supposed to move to Columbia, and the automated system that tells you your car's repair progress promised it would be finished a couple days before I moved. When I came to pick it up, however, it wasn't done yet and they were still waiting on a part. The staff went out of their way to make it right. Brianna gave me a ride home that day, and the following morning the manager Cody drove me and the last of my belongings from my old apartment in Charleston to Columbia and arranged for my car to be sent to a Columbia Caliber location to pick up when it was finished. The car was so bad it had paint chipping off and it even had bare metal spots on it. Now this car looks like it's brand new.
