While I am a loyal Hertz member, I will never rent from this location again. I reserved and prepaid my car in advance. Paola, the agent at the counter, provided me with my rental, I asked if I could have the full size car I requested. She said, "No, we have very few cars." Meanwhile, on the chair behind her were approximately 20 keys & contracts clearly already prepared for customers. Clearly, she simply did not want to have to re-do any of her work. Sure enough, when I went to the lot to get my car -- there were several full size cars in the lot. Paola alone is the reason I will never rent from this location again.If you read the other posts on here of poor customer service, they all say they will send to management for review. If that's true, and nothing changes with this location, then management is just as culpable as Paola with their apathy. ?

These incompetent workers make Hertz the WORST company to rent from. I could go into details.... But... Just trust me, they are horrible.

You will need to visit the counter after hours even for PC. Staff is nice though. There is some paperwork to do which is surprising since I have been to many hertz as a PC

Worst car rental experience ever. Fly into Charleston every other week for business and will never use Hertz again. Added charges upon return. Rude employees at the counter.

In and out, the individual who helped us had a great personality and was very helpful and informative. Other than a 'little' walk from our gate, very convenient and a nice comfortable and clean vehicle.

Updating as of Jan 2024, experience much better. Agents more pleasant. Still don't have Ultimate choice lot but did recognize my Presidential Circle status. Car selection is better than last trip could be time of year.If you are a gold member and used to the Ultimate Choice lots, rent from someone else. Everyone has to go through the line to get keys they are slow and never have the car you need. I booked a sedan and got a 4x4 pickup truck. Agents are borderline rude.

Have rented from this location numerous times over the years. BEWARE!!!!This location has the worst selection of vehicles, and primarily rents only junk from Fiat Chrysler. If you only want a Challenger or Charger, this is the rental agency for you. Maybe they will just close up this location when Dodge stops making these models.Also - if you are a Gold Member, this location doesn’t use the Gold board downstairs. And there is also no one in the garage to help you with any issues.Rent from another agency, like Avis!

I've rented from Hertz for years and this location is terrible. They charged me an extra day and mileage for dropping off in North Carolina. They charged $283 and an extra $499. The web site for this location says drop off at any Hertz. That is a lie. Do not rent from any Hertz in Georgia, North Carolina or South Carolina. They are all associated.

I use Hertz 20 plus times a year and the customer service here is by far the worst I have received at any location. Including over seas. They say it is privately owned so none of the Hertz services like presidents club is applicable. I guess decent customer service isn't either. Worst part is when renting Hertz doesn't make you aware.

Quick check in. Charger car was nice. Only complaint was when I returned it. Didn’t have time to fill it up the 1/4 tank used. Price locally was $ 2.73/gallon and they charged me $9.99 per gallon. Ridiculous!!!!

Don't use. booked car for client, wouldn't let rent since his name wasn't on the credit card used for payment. when he provided his own card, they wouldn't accept it stating that there were no cars left unless he used the card initially on file. customer service was of 0 help as well.

Not sure why this location has so many poor reviews. My experience was positive. We waited in Line for about 5-10 minutes when we arrived which is pretty typical. Unfortunately they didn’t have any midsize sedans, but they offered me a free upgrade to a minivan or pickup truck which worked well for us. The van we took was in great shape and had all the bells and whistles. The only downside to this location is that they do not participate in the GOLD member program where you can walk straight to a car(minus 1 star)

By far the single worst car rental experience ever! Just straight up ignorant and disrespectful employees at the counter. Despite having a confirmed reservation as well as being a President’s Circle member for 10+ years, I was told no car for you. Furthermore, I was told they were an independently owned location with no Presidents Circle in addition to having no cars - both of which were lies! When does having 100 cars more mean you don’t have any cars to rent and that I’ll have to wait 45 minutes after being on a plane for 4 hours? Needless to say, the employees couldn’t have given a $hit less. Went straight over to Avis and it was a totally different story with absolutely no status. They were helpful and smiling, and most importantly got me into a brand new car in a matter of minutes. Hertz, fire those losers you have and hire the team from Avis!
