the escalator going down was out of service. there were no signs or anything to notify us of where the nearest elevator or stairs were to get us to the first floor so we made the decision to walk down the escalator (of course this was not something that we wanted to do or were just doing for fun or to be purposely reckless as i was with my almost 60 year old father). Zach, apparently the managing assistant, made the decision to SCREAM at us by saying “no guys we’re not doing that!” (i want to emphasize how loud and rude he was) as if we were children just messing around. As someone who has worked in customer service for years, there were many other ways he SHOULD have spoken to us. we would have totally understood if he said something like “excuse me, there’s actually stairs that way in the corner of the store, safety is our top priority and that’s the easiest way to get down, sorry about the inconvenience” but he didn’t. Then, he stormed off while pointing randomly to each corner of the store where apparently the stairs and the elevators were. He was an awful customer service employee and an awful person. Obviously i recognize that walking down an escalator is not the best option but there were no other options presented to us and we all decided that we would all be able to do it. we also made sure there was no one coming up the escalator when we made the decision. He ran away without having a civil conversation and i have never been spoken to like that by someone working customer service. he must be a sad guy to treat people like that. ridiculous.

Went to JCPenney looking for a particular shoes ?. They didn't have the shoes I was looking for. So I tried to find something close to what I was looking for. No luck today. Better luck next time.

Placed an order online and canceled 5 minutes later which it verified. Then I got charged for the canceled order. Went to the North Charleston store as I did last year and the AC system was inoperable both years on 90 degree plus days. Last year the up escalator and elevator were broken, this year they worked but 100+ in the store. Not sure why PENNEY'S was unable to cancel the order as is wasn't packed or shipped ? I see why they are going out of business !

I bought a pair of Izod shorts and a leather belt around May 2023 in North Charleston. He wore both last week. The color from the belt transferred to the tan shorts. Both products are now worthless. Horrible quality!We have no receipt and I do not know the date. We bought casual summer clothes for my husband and a suit, dress shirts.

Do NOT go to the hair salon at the JCPenney. It was the worst haircut of my entire life. I was the last person to have my haircut, and it was clear that the woman working on my hair only wanted to go home. My hair looks nothing like the reference photo OR video. Everything is lopsided, everything is different lengths... the sides of my head are so blunt that they stick out like wings wanting to fly away. Nothing is blended. I explicitly asked her to cut slow so I could give my input as we went but she began chopping off chunks of my hair immediately. I'm going to need a wig or something. Whenever you think you are out of options and need to go to JCPenney's, you are NOT out of options! Just cut it at home and it will look better!

I ordered a dress on April 2 and they said the delivery date was April 6. It's now April the 9th and still no dress. They didn't say estimated date they said delivery date. It was a big inconvenience for me. Each time I checked the website it gave me a different date. It was to late to go out and look for something else. When I called customer service they offered me 10 dollars for my inconvenience! I've been a loyal customer for years and never had a issue until now and the best they can do is offer me is a 10 dollar gift card. I'm very disappointed in Jcpenney's.

The employees were friendly, needed more choices in the ladies petite section. And needed more fitting room open. Also needed a check out open on Mall side of store.

Mrs Lisa did a great job helping me out with everything today. Mrs Lisa went over and beyond for me and this is what I call great customer service. I can say I left the store happy and satisfied. Mrs Lisa is always helpful and nice to me ? Your number one when coming down to customer service. Keep up the great work ?

Went to exchange a pair of pants. Stood in line to exchange just for a different size. They sent me to refunds even had my original receipt. Needless to say I just did a refund and didn’t purchase anything else. Was going to purchase 3 other pairs, so done with JCP. Never shopping here again!

I went here to purchase my wife a new wedding ring since hers was missing a diamond. The employee who helped did an amazing job at assisting me. She explained the promotion that was in progress. She also explained the warranty for the ring, which I bought because it was worth it. I purchased the lifetime warranty.I wish I could remember the lady’s name, but I can’t. She is a middle-aged, black woman, a little on the lighter side with her skin complexion. She was very friendly the whole way through. I told her I had to think about the purchase, and I would be back later that evening if I decided to make the purchase. She was very professional and told me she would be closing if I decided to come back. When I went back, she was there and helped with my purchase. I will do business with her in the future when I want to purchase my new watch.

I had a new pair of pants that I ordered online the week of Thanksgiving that the belt loop broke. I wanted to exchange them but did not have a receipt, and they were happy to help.

Ordered my niece frozen doll for Christmas online and had it ship to store. The doll was barely in the box. It look like they threw it in a corner stepped on it. I ordered from other places as well and none of my shipped orders came like that. Pictures included. Very unhappy with this. Never again.
