South Cove County Park, leased by Oconee County from Duke Power Company in 1973, spans nearly 40 acres and provides public access to the clear waters of Lake Keowee. This popular recreation spot, celebrating 50 years of operations in 2023, attracts over 150,000 visitors each year. The park features a well-maintained campground with spacious sites offering 30amp power, water, fire pits, and picnic tables, allowing guests to enjoy beautiful views of the lake. The facilities are clean, including restrooms and a bathhouse, and the campground remains uncrowded, even during peak times. In addition to camping, South Cove County Park offers numerous family-friendly activities. Visitors can explore over seven miles of bike trails, enjoy a 9-hole disc golf course, play baseball and kickball in the grassy fields, or utilize the tennis and pickleball courts. The park also includes picnic areas, a playground, and an outdoor classroom, making it an ideal destination for families looking for a blend of relaxation and recreation. With its stunning sunrises and sunsets, South Cove County Park is a cherished spot for both visitors and locals alike.

We love camping at South Cove County Park. The rates are reasonable, the facilities are always clean and stocked. Our kids enjoy bike riding through the park, nature trails, swimming and fishing here. The park staff is always friendly and welcoming!
