South Cove County Park, leased by Oconee County from Duke Power Company in 1973, spans nearly 40 acres and provides public access to the clear waters of Lake Keowee. This popular recreation spot, celebrating 50 years of operations in 2023, attracts over 150,000 visitors each year. The park features a well-maintained campground with spacious sites offering 30amp power, water, fire pits, and picnic tables, allowing guests to enjoy beautiful views of the lake. The facilities are clean, including restrooms and a bathhouse, and the campground remains uncrowded, even during peak times.
In addition to camping, South Cove County Park offers numerous family-friendly activities. Visitors can explore over seven miles of bike trails, enjoy a 9-hole disc golf course, play baseball and kickball in the grassy fields, or utilize the tennis and pickleball courts. The park also includes picnic areas, a playground, and an outdoor classroom, making it an ideal destination for families looking for a blend of relaxation and recreation. We always love camping at this park. They have very clean sites and bathrooms. The showers have good water pressure and are always clean. Highly recommend South Cove when planning your camping trips.

Its a very clean and peaceful place. No trouble is permitted and the staff keep a good eye on the place. Its very beautiful here , with swimming area and fishing, camping , boating etc....

Nice park, lots of county residents, we had never been there before and could have used little more clarification on site layout, 😀 we made 3 trips around park to figure it out.
