I have been taking my dog to them for years. Everyone is so sweet to my boy! They take time to explain things and do not rush you. I will continue taking my baby there! Dr. Price was great yesterday too!

This is my favorite Banfield location. I took him to one in mt pleasant for a skin infection and his diarrhea but it just felt like they were being very negligent over there. I will spare the details but I highly suggest either the Azalea location or this one.I had another woman pick my dog up and drop him off at his appointment but she was running behind because I accidentally overslept. They did check in over the phone so he could still be seen.I've seen a few people complaining about not being able to cancel their plan. Something that I think everyone should understand is that the plan covers everything that you may have had done. If your pet passes or you no longer have them that doesn't change the fact that you still have money you need to pay back. Those services were not free and most certainly did not come out to be less than $200. In order for them to continue to be able to do plans like these, they can't just cancel every time something happens. That's a lot of funding coming out of their own pockets.

The staff is super friendly and helpful. They managed to get all my dogs in to update their vaccines on short notice. They were really good with my dogs and made sure all our questions were answered. I would definitely recomend them for anyone with pets.

Great place until you have to cancel your plan. Read the fine print. Luckily I didn’t have any visits before canceling or I would have lost out on way more money than I did. Shop around we have some great affordable vets in the area.

Giving three stars because the front desk staff and our usual doctor Dr. Price are always amazing! However for whatever reason we saw Reddy today and her energy was less than pleasant which quickly resulted in my energy not being pleasant. I apologized for being a little irritated(I was irritated about the directions on his chart not being followed because he is terrified of the vet) but because my appointment was confirmed three times for 7:30 however we were not seen until 8:15 and us not seeing Dr. Price I guess Reddy assumed i was referring to those factors and her energy changed even after i told her that wasn’t what i was referring to. And she at first apologized for the miscommunication because she doesn’t come in until 8 however after her telling me its not her problem they told me 7:30 and her reassuring me that Dr. Price would also refuse my dog for being “too aggressive” (when Dr. Price always reassures me he is not aggressive just afraid of the vet since he is normal otherwise) I told the front desk exactly what I thought of her and reiterated that we come to this location specifically for Dr.Price and never want to see Reddy again. Now we have to wait another month for a new appointment after being there almost 2 hours for a drop off appointment.

In late 2019 we took our dog, Jessie, in to have blood work included with her Active Care Plan, now the Optimum Wellness Plan, done because she was presenting with symptoms of a Urinary Tract or Bladder infection which she had a couple of times before and we were aware of the signs and symptoms. The office told us that they would run her blood work and if her white blood cell count was elevated they would do a urinalysis to determine if she had an infection or not. We were called later that afternoon to come pick Jessie up and when we arrived they told us at the front desk everything was fine and there were no issues and the blood work was fine. About 2 weeks later we called in again because she was still had symptoms she had before with a urinary infection. We were told that she was getting a little older and she was probably peeing more frequently because of that. Considering we had never had any issues with Banfield before, and we used them for care several of our previous pets, we trusted their answers.Six months later we took Jessie in for her dental cleaning, which was also included in our plan and also includes blood work, and we were called within a couple of hours to come in and speak with the vet. The vet explain to us that she was in kidney failure and had a very aggressive bladder infection. We told her that we had brought her in six months prior because we were concerned about that and she went to see what the lab results were from the previous visit. As it turns out, the vet that saw her that day never ran the blood work. The vet that was seeing her for the dental cleaning called the other vet that saw her for her comprehensive and asked why the test wasn't done and she responded by saying their system doesn't pop-up to notify them when blood work is needed to be done and so she forgot to do it. Of course, we were mortified. We've found out since then that this is a result of Banfield's practice of trying to see too many patients in a day without having enough vets to see them. We spoke with the Director of Veterinary Medicine for the company, Dr. Kimberly Riley, about this issue, and the company refused to accept responsibility of Jessie's future medical care and costs saying, "Well we don't actually know that she had an infection at the time of service because we didn't do the lab work. So you can't prove it's our fault." When we brought up the idea of a possible lawsuit, we were told that was our right, but that in South Carolina pets are considered personal property and unfortunately aren't valued at much.We heard plenty of horror stories about Banfield from people before, but our previous pets never had any health issues and we had been happy with the care they received so we disregarded them. We had to keep an Optimum Wellness Plan with Banfield, though we went to a different location moving forward and found a vet there we trusted, because we couldn't afford to take Jessie anywhere else considering the cost of having lab work done every 3-6 months and having appointments we would have to pay out of pocket for every time she got sick, which happened frequently because of the Kidney Failure. With our previous pets, when they would pass, we had no problem cancelling our plan with Banfield. This time however, we were informed that we would have to pay the remaining 7 months balance on the plan, even though our pet was no longer alive to receive the services. We just recently had to say goodbye to Jessie due to the Kidney Failure advancing to the point where she wouldn't eat and would barely move. Now that we don't have business with Banfield, I can finally post an honest review of the company responsible for her being in kidney failure. Don't make our mistake. They have some good vets, but the business model of quantity of patients over quality of care means more frequent mistakes. Their mistake cost us more than $25,000 debt in medical costs directly related to her kidney failure and, more importantly, cost us time we should

I am giving ZERO reviews!First off I have no idea how this office is still up and running. The incompetence in this place is shocking. Two weeks in a row my appointment has been canceled for a vet not showing up. I need Saturday appointments due to working in a school which is why I book Saturday appointments a month in advance. When I spoke to the office manager she was so rude and unprofessional snapping her gum. She had zero remorse for canceling my appointments and told me I should just drop my dog off during the week. When I explained that didn’t work for my schedule she said “ why can’t Mr. S just do it?” I was so appalled and disgusted that I would even need to explain myself to her.The front staff is so oblivious to the tests that are offered. I had appointments that needed to be rescheduled/ canceled multiple times due to being scheduled the wrong time of day.I would never take my animals here and if you have any love for yours, you should either!

Never have I been treated with such rudeness and disrespect at this establishment. Dr. McElligott was very rude and unprofessional to me when I was two minutes late picking up my pet. I was in constant communication as to why I was late. Traffic was terrible and that was beyond my control. If this is how she treats somebody who is doing their best to get there on time I wonder how she treats the animals.

Ive never had any issues with the other staff of this establishment but Dr McElligott was extremely rude and unprofessional during our last visit. If her conduct is in any way a reflection of how she treats her patients I will never be visiting any veterinary clinic where she is employed.

I love this place! Everyone is so nice & genuinely cares about you and your pets. I love how they all get excited to see them each visit. They never try to push tests, treatments, or any unnecessary things to drive up the bill. Very satisfied all around!

I want to share my displeasure at the customer service in cancelling our plan. We enrolled in the OWP for our Senior Dog, Maxx in Dec 2022. Sadly, we had to have him euthanized 10/5/23. I called to cancel our plan and we were told we owe you money? Why? Because he didn't have one of his shots he was due, and we had 2 pills of Simparica we hadn't used. First, we got his 6 month supply in May, which has 6 pills. He was due 10/10/23. We have one left. The local Banfield said they would give a credit of $42 if I returned the 2 pills. Again, we had ONLY 1 left, and why should I have to bring a pill back? The cost deducted from our account was $148 a month. You got 11 months of this for $1,628 ....PLUS the charges NOT covered like our x-rays and medications mark ups .Also, we were promised with the OWP care from a Vet as needed.. We had less than exemplary or satisfactory care by the last vet who saw our dog. She told us that his Ataxia was cause by a UTI and possible Hypothryoidism. His Ataxia came on sudden onset. I asked for a neuro consult and she told us that we had to get Maxx's thyroid in normal levels first before a neurologist would even consider Maxx as a patient.I had to finally make my own referral to a Neurological Vet office and then called Banfield to tell them I did this and they must make the referral. We were delayed 3 weeks in care because of the misinformation and lack of urgency in caring for Maxx. Maxx again was sadly euthanized last week and we have a HUGE bitter taste in our mouth over the breach in care of our dog. We understand the vet was home sick with her children. But no other vet in the entire practice was available? Are you kidding me?NOW you want to charge us for 2 months remaining in the contract? I would think in the essence of customer service, this would be written off.I also expressed this to the client care person at Banfield. She told me that she would write off one month and we do one month as a compromise. I told her that would be something i could present to my husband but he was very bitter, and he wants to cancel his payment authorization with American Express. She said no we can't do that she will turn us over to collections and affect our credit score. My husband's credit is well in the 800s....and I don't think you can legally do this. Can you? I will also ask this question to our Attorney.Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.Eileyn Sobeck-Bador/Michael Bador

Took my lab in for possible sepsis. I patiently waiting while the lady in front of me was checking out and the receptionist was jaw jacking about a spa day for the dog. When she finally acknowledged me I stated what was going on and she told me to go elsewhere that they do not provide emergency care. So I wonder. Why are open on a Sunday and how can you call yourself a veterinary practice if you don't take emergency cases. I work in public safety and pretty sure I'd lose my health Job and license if I turned a patient away. Steer clear of this place. Trust the 1 star reviews and terrible customer service
