I wanted to write this review because this page is honestly not a accurate representation of this location or business. I also think that you only ever hear when someone has a bad experience so this one is good! I 1000% will recommend this place to other people. I registered my new dog that I rescued for an appoint and also signed up for the most basic plan. As a college student I really liked knowing that I could pay monthly and have the best care for my pup! When I arrived I was seen right away and they were super sweet! Then I sat for maybe 5 min tops before we were called back! I went into the room and the nurse was so kind and I could tell she enjoyed being there. She took the time to listen and write all of my questions down and DID NOT try and sell me things that I did not need. She explained everything to me and made the process really easy and stress free. Then they took my dog to the back and gave them everything he needed, and she also told me everything that was going on! I could even hear them back there talking about how cute and amazing my pup was! It made me really happy. Finally, the vet came in a spoke with me about my pup and answered all the questions I had asked the nurse. He was reassuring and took every concern i had seriously. Then he even complemented my pup and my training! With all of this being said, and if you are still reading.. give this place a chance! I truly cannot recommend it enough and my pup will continue going for all of his needs!

Decided to give my cat shots instead of looking at the abscess growing in his neck and pushing on his windpipe. Because of that I he got upset and so they would not look at the abscess and it ruptured later that day. I was and still am incredibly upset

The lowest quality of care at the highest price imaginable. I would give 0 stars if I could. Whatever you do, DON'T purchase the Optimum Wellness Plan. At best it's a rip-off and at worst it's a total scam. The BBB needs to step in.

My baby just died yesterday because she had cancer. I know it's not caught through regular blood work but may I suggest, offer a scan or sonogram to your patients? We were enrolled in the wellness program and it was great for discounts and teeth cleaning but I would have loved to have known sonograms and scans were an option. Maybe that's my fault for not asking. Im nor blaming Banfield or anyone for my dogs cancer, but I do feel if it were caught sooner I could have had more time with her than a few weeks. As many times as I have been in there getting allergy tests, teeth cleaning, ear infections, yeast infections etc... someone could have said "hey, its not covered but would you like to do an y tests to see what her insides are doing?" I would have said YES. Maybe could have caught it earlier...no one knows. No other issue with Banfield in Summerville. Just go the extra mile for the patients so they are not shocked at the last minute. Thanks

I’ve always had a great experience when I bring my cats! Dr. Raymond is fabulous and takes the time to explain everything and listen to my concerns. The vet techs are all amazing and incredibly helpful! I’m extremely happy that I chose to bring my kitties here for their care.

The insurance contract automatically renews. It doesn't matter if you ask them they will lie. The contract states it does. Liars and thieves.

Have been taking my two dogs here for over 7 years and have always had a great experience. They are very busy so appointments may be a little bit pushed out but just plan ahead. I have only had one issue with mis communication due to my dogs not being drop off but it was quickly resolved. The vets and vet techs are very friendly and I would recommend going here to anyone looking for a vet. Also, the wellness plan has saved us over $10k in vet fees for our dogs so I can not stress how great that part is as well.

I cannot recommend this location and wish that I never took my pet here. I experienced exams that were not thorough and a missed diagnosis with very severe consequences. I'm unsure if it's the training or lack of, caring or a lack of, or if it's the fact that they are over booked but the health of a pet is very serious. When common sense and obvious signs and symptoms are missed it is dangerous and there is no excuse for it. When taking your pet to someone who is supposed to be a professional you expect a certain level of competence.

Still love Banfield!!! They care for all of my pets & I love their optimum wellness plan. It allows me to be able to afford anything when it comes to my pets. I pay a monthly fee & can bring my pets in as many times as I need. These people really love animals. Dr. McElligott, Dr. Reddy and Jeremy (front desk) at the Bacons Bridge road location know my pets and treat them as if they are their own. They call and check on my pets too. If you haven't checked out Banfield you need to!!

So I called and told the vet that I felt a mass in my cats stomach. Instead of telling me that they don't have an ultrasound in the office and that they might not be able to tell if it's a mass exactly they just told me to come on in. So I bring her in and all they told me was that it is a mass but they can't tell for sure if it's a tumor or a hernia because I don't have an ultrasound. So basically they told me what I already know and all they could do is refer me to a specialist. So here I just paid $50 for them to literally tell me what I already know. I wouldn't waste your time coming here. Money hungry.

Sorry to say, but very displeased with the entire process. my dogs appointment was at 8:15Am. We weren't seen until 9:00Am. I had to ask to see the actual vet, who came in after 9:00am. I explained that my dog has Pannus of the eye. She di a test and told me that she has an ulcer. Gave me an ointment to correct. I told her she does not have any symptoms of an ulcer. I have had dogs with eye ulcers. There was no pain, squinting of the eye, rubbing the eye or discharge. The vet told me that it will go away in a week and to use for 2 weeks, which I did. Her eye did not improve at all. It was the same. I decided to take her to Cane Bay Vets on Rt. 176. A wonderful vet, Dr. Turrick immediately diagnosed her with, you guessed it, Pannus of the eye. She also has it in the other eye, which is very common. I received the correct medicine, and her eye cleared up in 4 days. I am very dissatisfied with the handling of my pet by Banfield. I would never trust them with any of my pets. The vet was more concerned about me keeping my mask on my face than my pets eye! She never picked up that my pet had Pannus even after I told her she did! She said an eye test was done, however I was not allowed to see what they actually did for my pet. She was taken into another room where I couldn't see what was going on. even when making a mistake, they will not refund me the money that is owed. I will be taking this up with my credit card company. I should not be charged for a misdiagnoses.
