Everyone seemed happy with their food and I thought mine had plenty of flavor. However, I had the Eggs Benedict and was a little disappointed with the presentation, especially with the pepperoni size pieces of Canadian Bacon. See pic. Also, the waitress told me that the gravy was Sausage Gravy, alas, no sausage and floating in grease. I do believe that Toast deserves another chance and look forward to my next visit.

Went here because I got a gift card and decided to check it out for dinner. Most the food was mediocre. I ordered a biscuit with my shrimp and grits got charged but never got the biscuit. Then my husband got his steak and it was awful beyond description. He almost vomited and when he had me try it I actually did run to the bathroom to vomit the steak tasted about a month old! Waitress just said oh sorry and asked if he wanted anything else. Manager came out and made a short "sorry about the steak" comment and left. They were gracious enough to remove the steak from the bill, what a joke. If you don't want food poisoning i highly suggest staying away.

don't normally make bad reviews. But sometimes the service and the food equality and the foreign objects in your food just require it. My dad's chicken was actually pretty good but the waiter asked me if I wanted my pork tenderloin rare medium rare Etc. When I asked him you don't normally give choices on pork please don't make it so dry I can't eat it but don't send it to me rare either. It came back so dry I could barely eat it and then as you can see in the pictures you'll see some foreign slimy snotty object in my meal as well. The messed up my order and the guy's name is James, he talks so fast and seemed like he was on meth. Then I asked him to slow down cuz my father and I were old and couldn't hear well but he copped an attitude, standing there with his hands on his hips acting like I was giving him the trouble to make him slow down so that we could understand what he said and then gave me shity food. I've never been so upset at a restaurant in Summerville yet but I do not recommend this at all and I hardly tell you to stay away. Sorry again for the negative review

Driving home from Charleston found Toast of Summerville here on yelp. Glad we stopped to have breakfast. Food was very good and the waitress was super nice and attentive.

Sunday brunch wasn't great. It took a reasonable 20 minutes to be seated. Staff was fine, but the food could use some work. I ordered a side egg and sausage patties and the scrambled egg was extremely well done and unfortunately d/t health reasons I can't swallow them that way. I asked for it to be replaced and it was. Another person got grilled chicken sandwich with fries and the fries were very undercooked. Those were requested to be cooked more. The next person got an omelette and asked if the onions could be caramelized and they came out raw still and the egg was rubbery. She asked for cheese grits and they came with no cheese. Mind you two of the people got omelettes and didn't want the bread and one didn't want the grits. I posted updated menus, but didn't snap any pictures of the food. The kitchen could use some work, we probably won't be back because of all the issues.

I got the seafood omelet and it was delicious! My wife had the eggs meeting street - double and she loved it. There were huge portions so nobody left the restaurant hungry. The biscuits were enormous and fluffy. I had no real complaints.

You know. Toast is a household name. They are also up and down. One Saturday, best on the world. Next...wilted lettuce and cold crab cakes. I always love the Eggs Meeting Street, unless they're cold. I feel Toast shines on holidays when the do their buffet, believe it or not. We will come back...but have other places we venture to more often.

Still bad. Oatmeal. Seems easy. I specifically asked that it be served hot even if they had to microwave it. Well, it was served ice cold. Iced cold and instant and undercooked. Hard to screw up oatmeal, right?? I met friends there or I would not have gone. Learned my lesson again!!!

We stopped here on a Tuesday for lunch when they weren't very busy. We all ordered Fried Green Tomato Bacon Sandwiches on wheat bread and fries. I ordered the peach tea. The tea was good but way too sweet and I am a southerner. I asked for half and half on a refill and it came out just as sweet. I could see the simple syrup swirling around in here. The sandwiches were delicious. Huge but very good. The fries weren't exciting, just not very tasty. We sat near the bathroom area and saw a lot of employees go to the bathroom during our stay. But a lot of them I know did not wash their hands, and that grosses me out.

Catered our office holiday lunch last year for 65 people. Was the best meal we ever had at one of our parties. The food was delivered and set up without any problems by lovely people, everything was hot, delicious and plentiful. Planning the menu was easy with lots of choices and flexibility on their part. We had the sweet tea glazed chicken and shrimp and grits as the mains and both were excellent. Will use again without question.

I've been here a total of 6 times sincerely hoping for a different outcome because I enjoy the breakfast but it is the same every time. Service is slow, but food is good. I've just found that it is better to order over the phone and pick up. They are seemingly always understaffed, stressed, chaotic and the seating situation is a hot mess. In reference to food, I highly recommend the chicken biscuit which comes with gravy and is oh so tasty. The pimento cheese appetizer is also so good.

Huge disappointment! Went for Mothers Day Buffet, based on the price you would expect a gourmet meal, based on reality you could have gone to Shoney's or Waffle House and done better. The attempt at a fried green tomato was disgusting, the tomato was covered in a thick glob of tasteless breading weighing ten times that of the tomato is smothered. The crab cake was of suspect ingredients and worse than any I have ever had. The scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage were low quality junk. Overall I hope the owners enjoy the HUGE profit they made selling garbage for premium prices, had it NOT been mothers day and not wanting to make a fuss I would have raised hell. Toast you stole from us!

Stopped in this little place for dinner and was eager to try something unique or a special this restaurant offered. Sweet tea glazed fried chicken was the special and it was awesome! The plate came with two fried boneless chicken breast and two sides. I chose mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. The chicken breast were super juicy and tender. The mashed potatoes were flavorful and the mixed veggies consisted of squash and zucchini. They were super good. Seasoned well and tender. My aunt got the shrimp and grits which was a large bowl . She said she was displeased that it didn't have more peppers and onions in it but overall it was good. We also got an app which was $5 (a special for all appetizers) The pictured fried green tomatoes were SO GOOD. They were thick but the batter and salsa was super flavorful and tender. I don't normally get fried green tomatoes but I'm glad we did. Definitely pleased with this place and recommend it.
