I brought my rental car back to Hertz in Summerville on full and was still charged by Mike (Branch Manager) saying it was not full even though the receipts and pictures indicates I filled it right before I dropped it off.

The guy waiting on us, kept disappearing to the back, while I was still talking to him. He claimed that all he had for us was a huge truck with no steps, to get in and out of. My father is elderly and I have knee problems.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this one is definitely warranted. This is not my first experience with car rental services (including Hertz), but was easily one of the worst. The customer service experience leaves much to be desired! So, my mother and kids were in a car accident last week and the car insurance set up a rental through Hertz. Firstly, I had to call multiple times to even be able to reach a representative, and was even transferred from the customer service center and was still unable to reach someone. Once I finally reach someone, I explain the situation and am told to come by and complete the rental, even though I offered additional information and would’ve liked to relay the type of vehicle of preference. So, we go by a day or two after to pick up the vehicle, for Michael to say that we have no rental there and he never spoke to anyone about the order, and he knows because he’s the only one working there. When I tried to explain the phone conversation, he turned and walked out of the room, mumbling under his breath. In the end, there were only 2 car choices available, and his demeanor was pretty consistent throughout the interaction. Based on our experience, I would not recommend dealing with this location, if at all possible.

Worst rental location I have EVER BEEN TO! Rented a car on July 6 returned on July 7 due having to update my credit card balance. Call the location soon as they opened on July 8 no answered arrived at the location to be told I was put on the DO NOT RENT List for being 20 mins late and being less than a 1/2 gallon to full. Was told by Michael that he tried to charge the card and it didn’t go through so it automatically put me on there and I can’t get off. Mind you I was never notified of the situation and was told that I didn’t have to be notified my money should have been on the card! Also Im listed as an undesirable driver and unpaid balance in which he also refused to accept my $53 payment that I owe and told me I would never be able to rent through them again! WORST LOCATION EVER AND WHO EVER IS OVER THE LOCATION PLEASE HIRE PEOPLE WHO HAVE CUSTOMER SERVICE SLILLS! Also to add the police was called on me because I wanted to resolve the situation so that I could rent the car and he left me in the lobby unattended please replay the cameras if you would like to see and I also have footage! Do not book through this location!

THE WORST rental agency I’ve ever used. Not only did they give me dirty cars, with molded food in hidden compartments, but they charged me $250 and I haven’t even rented from them in almost two months. The customer service is HORRIBLE, the number listed isn’t correct either

Where should I begin? Horrible and most dishonest service ever! This was the most unprofessional dump of a business that I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. DO NOT take your business here. There are so many better companies that offer competitive rates and qualified professionals eager to help you,very much unlike here. The so called "Manager" Michael is rude and dishonest. He should never be allowed to work in a Customer Service role. He cuts you off when you are trying to express your needs and claims the computers are down in and effort to have you sign papers before he had even noted his comments. After you have left,he decides to totally make up his own version of events,that never even happened,in order to suit his agenda of sticking it to you royally. Thankfully,because he made me so nervous upon pickup,I took a family member as a witness upon returning the vehicle after a minor incident in a parking garage. He never bothered asking if everyone was ok. Every time that I began to relay what happened,he cut me off. Now I realize that he didn't want the truth caught on camera,but rather be able to go back and make up events that never happened on the incident report. When I tried to ask what happens next in the process,he cut me off and very tersley said,I dont know,follow up with your insurance agency and then just stomped off. My family member was appalled as we vowed to NEVER use Hertz again. What a shame because we travel cross country @4 times a year and use rental cars. I am ending my long term business with HERTZ for good. This location,its Manager,and dishonesty is totally unacceptable.

I haven't even got my rental yet and im leaving the worst review possible. My rental has been booked for 12 days and I'm still waiting for it. They tell me they have no cars on the lot at all and they can't help me until they get one but they were more than happy to take the money for the reservation. Its been 12 DAYS!!! They Don't answer the phone and when they do, they're rude. Like they're mad your calling. they offer NO help whatsoever. I had someone go check for me and I was told there were cars in their lot. I call and get sent to a busy signal after the first 2 times they don't pick up. Worst experience ever. Will never use this location again and I'm now trying to cancel my reservation but they won't answer the phone

I'd give them a zero star if I could. They choose to participate in the third party rental sites but refuse to honor those reservations. I only found out because I called them to make sure there would be no issues, the response was basically, well, sucks for you but you went through Priceline so oh well...

Yall do not EVER rent a car from Hertz in Summerville off of Bacons Bridge Road.They don’t answer the phone, they don’t have anyone in office 90% of the time, they ignore the information that insurance provides, they will charge you “any amount they feel necessary to ensure payment at any time without notification”, they rent out cars that are missing mirrors or have not been properly cleaned inside to where you find paraphernalia in it, they don’t maintain the vehicles with proper alignment or windshield wipers, you have to call another location to get any sort of information regarding payment or return, they will charge you for every fee or tax that they can possibly put out of thin air... and there is 1,000 more things to say about them ..But like fr dont rent from them. It will be the biggest mistake and headache youll ever have to deal with.However, Hertz in West Ashley is AWESOME !
