I love shopping at Petco. My Cat Carrier and Dog beds came from there. I was able to put the Dog Cushion in the washing machine and it came out just like new.

Last Friday I brought my 10 month old puppy in for grooming. The groomer, Jonah, called me halfway through to complain that my puppy was was "biting" and wouldn't hold still while she clipped his legs. Upon my expressing surprise (I have videos of my friend's two year old handling his feet and he is always extremely gentle) she admitted that it was just play biting. I had to suggest that she try distracting him with treats or toys (wouldn't you think a groomer would know to try that before calling the owner???) and when I picked him up the grooming job was terribly uneven. We have never had an experience like this with any other groomer. I suspect that Jonah is not an experienced groomer and tends to blame her subpar skills on the dogs and owners rather than improving. To top it off, today (a week later) my dog has developed an ear infection which the vet says was almost certainly caused by the groomer getting water in his ear. We are stuck with a terrible grooming job, sick dog, and $200+ vet bill. Obviously we will never be returning for grooming at this location again.

Usually a great experience..as I travel an hour to get there. The atmosphere of the store yesterday was unprofessional & unfriendly. Yesterday I went to try to find cat food for my diabetic cat, and a particular type of cat litter. I struggled for 45 minutes to find what I needed. Reading packages, trying to walk around the vaccine clinic ladiesAnd their items and "social gathering" No one helped me. I believe that it's not the person running the registers fault as they were very professional ....The real problem seemed to be a group of ladies that were working in the store from a "vaccine clinic". The ladies carried on conversations while I was there for 45 minutes totally ignoring me. They didn't smile.. they didn't offer any help even though they probably couldn't help me. They went on to tell loud stories about pet owners... vaccine clinic stories about people in Bluffton South Carolina who were rude. It was just a very unprofessional atmosphere, unwelcoming. I'm writing this post just to let the store manager know that they need to say something to the "vet vaccine ladies". Lets be professionals

Absolutely horrible experience! I took my Old English Sheepdog in to be groomed. She is admittedly a difficult dog to groom, and I've had hit and miss experiences with groomers at Petco and elsewhere, but this latest grooming is unconscionable. They shaved her completely down, including her head. She had some mats and needed a thorough grooming. I was even okay with clipping her for the summer, but this groomer was negligent and did such a sloppy job, she injured my dog. The LAST thing you want from a groomer. I repeated multiple times that I wanted her to try her hardest to keep length on her, and I KNOW I would have been able to brush her out myself at home. It's just a time consuming process that they don't want to bother with. If they weren't up to the task of grooming a sheepdog, they should have let me know ahead of time. Here are pictures from before the appointment and after. You can see the razor burn and scratches she came home with. And the resulting wound that needed to be treated by a vet. Beware!

I took my puppy goldendoodle to PETCO in Summerville SC (N. Main St) on Sunday Dec 11th for a full groom. This was now my 3rd or 4th time taking Luka (my puppy) to this location when my main groomer is booked. I explained everything I wanted as I normally do and the groomer began petting Luka looking for matting and said nothing to me at that time and told me she would call me in a few hours when she was done. About 2.5-3hrs later I get a call from the lady saying that Luka has matting in his ears (which I was totally unaware of) but she's the groomer, so I figured maybe she saw/felt something i hadn't. She said she would need to shave some of his fur to get the matting out. I told her I didn't want Lukas ears shaved because that would look stupid, but she reassured me it wouldn't look bad and that she could do it in a way that it would remove the matts and still look good. I reluctantly told her if it doesn't look bad, she could do it. She called about an hour or so later and told me he was ready to be picked up. I typically pick him up, but I was unable this time, so my boyfriend left to get him. Once he got there, he went to the grooming counter to get Luka but for some reason this time they handed him the receipt first told him to pay and then come back and grab Luka. Which was odd because the times before we have gotten the receipt and the dog at the same time. So he proceeded to pay and then go back to get Luka. He called me as soon as he got him and told me i would be livid with how he looks. Once he got home, I was in complete shock! I called PETCO immediately voicing my concern. The lady told me his matting was so bad that she had no choice but to shave his ears all the way down. Which was totally absurd because I get my dog groomed every 3.5-5 weeks. And he was just seen by them a few weeks before and he had NO MATTING! So in the matter of a few weeks my inside well-kept dog went from zero matting to sever matting???? I told her i wanted to speak to the manager at which time she told me she was busy and would contact me later in the day. I decided to give the manager a call the next day since she never called me back the night before. She basically told me the same thing the other lady had said and told me all she could do was offer a refund and then told me she would refer me out and that I could no longer take my dog to PETCO for grooming services (which is 100% okay by me). however, they acted as if I had done something wrong. If my dogs' ears were so matted the groomer should have called me back and told me his ears would need to be fully shaved to his skin. I have never been so displeased and pissed off with services rendered. I went in the following day (Tuesday Dec 13th) to get my refund at which time they told me I could get a full refund minus my tip .... WOW just gets better. WORST EXPERIENCE WITH PETCO EVER!!!!!!!!! See before and after pictures

Customer service absolutely exceeded expectations in every way. Erin and William were incredibly friendly and helpful when I needed advice to set up my new aquarium. They didn't make me feel like I was an inconvenience when I asked questions, but instead were eager to help. You can tell this Petco has knowledgeable, passionate associates, and that is a rare find in this day and age. Because of this, Main St. Petco will be my #1 choice and recommendation for pet supplies in the area.

Petco on Main Street in Summerville is a great pet store that has everything that you need to care and feed your pets. They have a great selection of many quality items at really good prices and you can find some great value here. The store is very clean and well maintained and that is always important for a pet store as the entire store smells good. I like how all of the different sections of the store are organized as it is easy to find exactly what you need right away without getting lost. The staff here is extremely helpful and is very good at making sure you get all of the assistance that you need and they are very knowledgeable and can answer about any question you have. Overall this is an awesome pet store.

Great store, the management is extremely helpful. I used a grant to purchase fish and a tank for my classroom, they were great! They took the time to explain how everything worked with the care and which food I should use to take care of the fish. The service was top notch. I highly recommend going here for your pet care needs. If you need something ask for Nikki, is is fantastic!

Petco groomers are very friendly and most services can be done without an appointment. Nail clipping can be done as a walk in and it's $15.00. They have spa packages for your furry family members too, they have basic shampoo packages all the way up to a blueberry facial. My English bulldog cannot go under the blow dryers because her nose is flat so they air dry her. They used to give a little bag of treats with each visit but they haven't done that the past few times I've been there so they might have done away with that, none the less we love coming to Petco!

This store is always so clean when I walk in. I'm amazed that they can keep a pet store as clean as the employees manage to keep this one. I've received good customer service from this location in the past but the icing on the cake was when I realized last week that I had received a coupon for % 50 percent off of one bag of my dog's food, and she was literally in need of more food. Though the coupon had expired a few days prior to me shopping, I mentioned it to the cashier and she of course verified that I was a "Petco Rewards" member and then honored it anyway, that was a savings of nearly $10.00, and it may not seem like much to some however pet parents know how our fur babies can eat their way through dog food in no time flat!
