Is your time valuable? Want a fair, trustworthy institution for your financial needs? Would you like to work with a place that actually does what they say? Well this is not that place, all the w a y from initial deposits to direct deposits, fund transfers and customer service, they are terrible, after trying for over 6 months and numerous phone call/ complaints it is still the worst financial institution I have ever dealt with, although they will repeatedly say otherwise, they're words are just that, words, they're actions have proven time and time again to be problematic.. please either fell free to find out for yourself or be careful by not choosing them for banking/financial needs..

Jovanni's patience and professionalism is second to none. Personally, I have been a member of this bank since 2008 and I feel incredible lucky to call this my proverbial "bank home." Thank you to his leadership and entire team, he was a huge help!

Had this account for two weeks and getting the heck away. Bad service, fees, unavailable services and just an all around bad experience. Unnecessary issues and one run around after another.

Since their takeover of Greenville Hospital Fed Credit Union, they have charged excessive fees for a "dormant" account. They practically drained my account and never sent a certified letter or made contact with me directly before charging 10.00 every month for both the savings and checking. Every attempt to transfer money from Bank of America to this account over the last 6 months has failed and been blocked or denied. They made the account inactive on their end and then charged Me for inactivity. STAY AWAY!! I am getting legal counsel and calling SC Attorney General Alan Smith to review this activity as bad practice for all South Carolinians. Shame on SCFCU. You are Not member driven or focused. I will be closing all accounts once my outrageous "mob loan shark fees" are returned to the rightful owner. ME!

They need to change their status to a bank from a credit union. Many banks in town tripple their money market rates. I have been with them since they were Charleston Naval Shipyard back in the day and have seen their services and rates plummet to the point that I am closing my accounts and moving them elsewhere. A reasonable return on investments and services are more important to me than a location on every corner.

stay away from this credit union!!! they do not protect you from theft .my dad had a co- owner and her aid stole her debit card made over $6,000 in purchases thst this credit union did not stop or even find out if this was legit useage. this was in a 3 week time frame.this was not their spending habit. my dad had this account for 30 years. most banks/credit unions will lock your card till its verified ,not this place.i went in to w,cola location spoke with manager jadeana after speaking to sameal for 7 months . first they couldnt refund monies because the police report was not sent in. i proved it was. then, my dad didnt sign form- sameal said the co owner needed to and dad was bedridden. i took her twice to sign this form . ultimately now their telling me it was legit due to pin being used when the co owner went in twice to sign paper she did not authorize these charges i explained the aid took her shopping etc and would watch her put in pin and when ask where her debit card was she explained it was gone....stolen.... and this place is just letting it ride like this. everytime i proved we supplied what they ask for it became something else. i went into forest dr location spoke to ryan lee he tells me cant do anything and done with whole conversation... no help at all! he actually was very rude. this credit union is a joke!!!update::: vp called with final decision. the denial will stand even though all requests were made to the credit union in timely manner.this is not the only issue my family has had in the past. we all left this credit union due to dissatisfaction. the credit union next door is amazing though. dont waste your time here! you may not be having issues as long as you are a benefit to them, but if you ever get scamed, victim of theft they dont get your money back

I'm not a member, but now never. They can brake a bill for nonmembers. Really a bank can't brake a $100 bill? Customer care for future possible members? ??

If I could given them a ZERO I would- I've been with this bank for 12 years and I AM DONE!!!!! I cannot even begin to go into how disgusted I am with them! 10x I've had identity theft and they treated ME like the criminal! Customer service is nonexistent and if anything happens to your account after hours or on the weekends you are screwed because no one is available!! I am moving our accounts elsewhere and I can't wait to be through with them!!! I would NEVER recommend this credit union!!!

I joined SCFCU because they opened a new branch in Cane Bay/Summerville. Overall great service until today when I was informed, I could no longer deposit wrapped coins in my savings account. The branch no longer accepts coins however I could drive across town to another branch which has a coin machine which defeats the reason I opened the account near me.As a one-time courtesy they stated they would accept the wrapped coins but had to inspect/open 2 rolls and count the coins. The teller stated that 1 wrapper had 51 pennies so they could not accept any of the coins. I disputed the miscount on their part and things got a little heated. This is no way to treat your customers.

STEER CLEAR of this Credit Union. The employees are dishonest and they charge $12 a month to have the simplest checking. If you're a veteran or a first responder (I am both) they DON'T want your business. I have banked at a variety of banks and credit unions around the world and have never encountered problems like I have at SCFCU. When I first moved here and needed to switch to a local financial institution, I went in person to SCFCU and specifically inquired whether this was indeed a free account, which the employee behind the desk promised me it was. One year later a $12 fee appeared on my account. I called and was informed the fee was only waived for the first 12 months my account was open. I have never heard something so ridiculous. I immediately went to Navy Federal Credit Union and went through all the efforts of switching all my bills there. I then walked in to close my account with SCFCU and they must get that so often that they didn't even bother asking why I was closing my account or what they could've done differently. The ATM always had problems, too, and they were closed Saturdays, which made it impossible to ever go inside during their extremely limited hours. This place is a nightmare.
