“We stayed there for several days during a blizzard,Staff are very caring, often going out of their way to be of assistance. The rooms were exceptionally clean & manicured. The continental breakfast was delicious, and most items were available 24/7.”

“We did a little research for places to stay and eat prior to our motorcycle tour of all SD county seats. Tyler's looked like it might be a good stop with a motel, steak house, lounge, and bowling lanes all under one roof. We were skeptical when we pulled up to a building charmlessly clad in corrugated steel but we went in through the bowling lanes and lounge and Evan gladly showed us a room in their motel section. The room was great! Two queen-size beds, big, nicely decorated, and cool which was perfect after riding all day in mid-90s sun. As I was registering, Evan got me some buttery popcorn and offered a cold drink. Perfect! We showered up and headed to the restaurant for dinner. Friendly, hospitable, and knowledgeable about the menu, Lorene did a great job taking care of us! After getting our drinks and appetizer order in, she said it could take up to a half-hour to get our dinner orders out. as the kitchen was busy handling orders from a full dining room. I like gizzards and whenever I see them on the menu I'm inclined to try them out. These turned out to be a generous portion cooked perfectly with a light and well-seasoned batter. The salad bar featured iceberg lettuce (which I will not eat), an array of fresh veggies, a number of very good house-made salads, and a beef vegetable soup of uncommonly good character. The timing was perfect! By the time we finished the gizzards and salad bar Lorene brought out steaks - I had the ribeye and Laurie the sirloin. Both were hot and cooked to purrrrfection! Sided with a baked potato and Texas toast, this was quintessential SD cuisine. Suzie came to our table to see how everything was and amiably chatted with us for some time. She was charming! Laurie and I wanted her to pull up a chair and join us! We wanted something sweet to conclude our meal and luckily there was a box of a dozen house-made chocolate chip cookies still available. We had a couple with dinner and savored the rest on subsequent days of our SD adventure. Turns out Lorene's mom, Julie, made the cookies! All bias aside, these were damn good cookies; I wish I had one now! If you're traveling through the area, don't hesitate to stop. The friendly and good-looking staff at Tyler's will ensure your accommodations are comfortable, beer ice cold, and dining experience perfect!”
