Econo Lodge is a clean and comfortable hotel located in a great spot, close to many attractions such as Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Wind Cave, and Custer State Park. Guests appreciate the friendly staff and the convenient walkable location, which makes it easy to explore nearby shops and restaurants. The rooms are generally small but very clean, cozy, and equipped with all essentials, including an ironing board and comfy beds and pillows that ensure a good night's sleep. The hotel looks recently refurbished and offers a quiet environment at reasonable prices, making it a good choice for an overnight stay. While the furnishings may be a bit rustic or dated, the cleanliness is exceptional. Some guests mention that the rooms are small, and there is no elevator, which can be inconvenient for those with mobility issues. The hotel has a small laundry and gym, and a modest continental breakfast is included, although some find the breakfast options limited. A notable issue is the absence of a pool; despite online listings showing a pool and confirming its availability at the time of reservation, the pool has been closed for two years, which disappointed some guests. Wi-Fi connectivity was also reported as unreliable during their stay. Overall, Econo Lodge provides a good, affordable stay with a prime location, though potential guests should be aware of the pool's closure and the lack of an elevator.

The staff was very nice. The girl even upped our room to a King, and put us on the 1st floor. The room was very clean, and it had a comfy bed and pillows.
