This property is very clean. The receptionist was very friendly and we felt welcome. The furnishings are a little dated or maybe just rustic - but the cleanliness was exceptional and the room had everything we needed (plus a little more like ironing board) There was a modest continental breakfast included so we were able to get an early start with food in our bellies. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.
Walkability: This is a very good location to walk to restaurants and the local shops on the main street.

The hotel was fine and staff were friendly. My issue is that the Google listing has pictures of a pool as well as lists a pool as an amenity. I called to make a reservation (not third party) and specifically asked if they had a pool. I was told that they did and was given the hours that it’s open. Surprise! they closed the pool 2 years ago. When asked the front desk said that it was on their website.
Also breakfast could be better
Noteworthy details: No pool!

This hotel had clean rooms, nice staff, and is in a great spot. The location is perfect for seeing so many things: Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Wind Cave National Park, and for exploring Custer. Breakfast choices were pretty slim, and the wifi did not work either night that I was there, but it was a great hotel and I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area!
Nearby activities: Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Custer State Park, and so much more are super close to this hotel!
Walkability: This hotel is located in the downtown area of Custer, so you can easily walk around and explore the many shops and restaurants!

Me the Hubby and son stayed in a 2 queen bed room mountain view. Front desk lady was friendly. Rooms at a reasonable price, perfect to sleep for the night. Very clean and quiet. Comfy beds and pillows. Just a walk away from stores and restaurants. Perfect location from attractions. Only downfall was the website shows there's a pool. THERE IS NOT A POOL HERE!! If you look into the updates there's a message saying there no longer is a pool. Other then that the Econo lodge serves its purpose.
Rooms: Clean, comfortable, reasonable prices
Nearby activities: Close to Mount rushmore, crazy horse etc

Don’t forget to check for bed bugsBED BUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Use caution! This is one week later update…I have so many bites on my arms and hands it’s ridiculous. These bites are extremely irritating and in some cases painful. I am absolutely freaking out that I may have brought bedbugs from this hotel with me on my journey possibly back to my house…….This is the cheapest hotel in Custer, but not worth the risk of bedbugs! Not worth it!!! These things will cost money to get rid of! Not to mention you have to throw away all clothing and basically everything that was inside the infested room….Not to mention, the room simply wasn’t clean.Everything from candy wrappers and food on the floor to hair in the sheets as well as dirty showerBED BUGS!!!!!!!!

The only reason I gave them 4 stars was there is no elevator. Someone with bad knees this is a major inconvenience. I do wish I had seen this listed on the motel description. It is a very clean hotel that looks newly refurbished. The lady who checked us in was very pleasant. The location is perfect. It is on the main street walking distance to restaurants and shops.Rooms: Small but clean. The bathroom is tiny.

This place has a small laundry and gym. The pool is being repaired. The beds are comfy and cozy and you will sleep like a lamb because of the feeling like home.

Pool permanently closed. A very weak breakfast offering. Tiny rooms and tiny parking lot. Location was good, and staff were nice.

Would not recommend staying here unless you want little bed bug buddies sleeping with you !! Rooms stink of mold, in the basement is their laundry which is disgusting and dirty !! Whole building smells like mold !!

Went there for Sturgis. Rally rooms were run down. Door didn't lock. Peep hole on door was missing and stuffed with Kleenex. Hallways were in need of paint and carpet was dirty and torn. Not sure how they can keep this property associated with Enono Lodge in its current state.

Clean comfortable, affordable room. Friendly, efficient staff. I was initially disappointed that the pool was closed, however; we received a complimentary pass to use at other indoor pools at nearby hotels. Our grandson enjoyed visiting 3 of the 4 different pools that were offered and the staff at each hotel was very friendly and accommodating. I do hope Econolodge will update their website indicating the pool is no longer in use.Safety: The location of the hotel felt safe. The back doors should be locked 24 hours a day. Our room was near a back door that wasn't locked.Walkability: A comfortable walking distance to historic downtown shops, decorated bison, saloons and eating establishments. The museum is right across the street and there's a park with a playground about a block away.
