“Very conveniently located with a short walk to historic downtown. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. The room was quaint with a very comfortable bed and bedding. Great pizza located within the hotel. Reasonably priced and I would definitely stay here again.”
“This place was wonderful, very comfortable, very friendly, very clean. Connie was amazing, she was very knowledgeable and made sure we were comfortable while we were there. I definitely will be booking another room here the next time I'm lucky enough to be back in ”

“My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary, and it was very pleasant. We stayed in “The Bullock Suite” on the 3rd floor, which had a jacuzzi and a great view of Main Street.
We were welcomed to our room by note stating that the mattresses in the room were to be replaced on the morning of our anniversary, which means we missed out on a couple hours of enjoying our suite that morning, which was a bit of an inconvenience.
Staff was not very clear on the parking situation, as our vehicle in the parking garage across from the entrance received some tickets after a couple of nights. Those arriving at their stay should be sure to get clarification from Staff on this at the time of arrival to avoid surcharges and tickets that we received.
The Staff were very polite to us, and even politely and promptly refunded us for a night when we decided to leave earlier than booked.
“Bully’s” is a fantastic restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel and should honestly have it’s own separate Google page for, as their hard-working and friendly Staff made the delicious food even that much more wonderful. “Bully’s” is a must at least once for breakfast during your stay in Deadwood, and was our favorite place for breakfast/brunch.
Our TV turned on by itself once, but it may have just been Seth Bullock himself thanking us for our patronage!
Great place to stay in Deadwood if you’re here for the history of the town.”

“My husband and I stayed there recently and had a wonderful time. Room was cozy and decorated nicely. The complimentary coffee cart and beverage fridge in the hall was very much appreciated. Had breakfast in the restaurant every morning and it was delicious. Joan greeted us when we arrived and she was awesome! Also interacted with Sherry multiple times and she was awesome also. In fact every employee was friendly and efficient. I hope the owners appreciated the staff they have. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.”
“The staff was very pleasant. The hotel itself is very unique and clean. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because there is no parking and it's difficult to find/navigate the entrance if you've never been there before. Location is great!”

“**Edited**
I’ve been a loyal customer at Gold Dust Casino in Deadwood for years, but I’m really disappointed with the recent changes. Gold Dust used to be my number one go-to spot, but last month, I was shocked to see that my monthly free play was slashed down to just $10. On top of that, I lost my Free Play Frenzy, which was a major perk that kept me coming back. The thing is, I’ve never gambled any less there than I always have, so there’s really no explanation for the sudden cut.
I’ve reached out to ask about it, but no one seems to have a clear answer as to why this happened. It’s frustrating when you’ve been a regular and loyal customer, and you feel like your rewards are just stripped away without any communication or reason. Honestly, it feels like the service I used to get here is no longer a priority, and I’m really not happy about it. So, I’m thinking about taking my business elsewhere — probably down to WinStar, where I feel like the rewards program is more consistent and fair. Sadly, this may be the end of my time at Gold Dust unless something changes.
Side note Deb is still the best at the CStore.”
“Loved Deadwood! This hotel is part of the Marriott brand and was a typical nice hotel with good service. Breakfast included. The parking is crap in this city. Good luck finding parking close... the hotel parking garage may hold 40 cars at best. Other than that... nice hotel in walking distance to everything.”
“Really enjoyed our stay there, staff excellent, breakfast, room and shared pool great. Liked getting credit for the casino. Internal food options good too.
Location means its walkable to most of deadwood. Serviced too by the deadwood trolley (for what thats worth!.. see other review!)
For me the place lost a star for the nightly parking charge. Car park was never busy and one of the nights my car was in the visitor centre anyways.”

“The Franklin Hotel is grand to look at. It was the first building we noticed when we arrived in Deadwood, South Dakota, so we walked over to check it out. We walked around inside but did not stay to eat or try out the casino. The interior is beautiful, especially the crystal chandeliers.”

“The location is perfect for anything on Main St.
The staff is phenomenal. Ashley, at the front desk, was very personable, helpful and fun to chat with. The cleaning staff is very friendly as well.
The rooms are a little small and the breakfast is minimal but the location, cleanliness and staff definitely make up for it!”
“They just went through a wonderful remodel. They have 78 rooms which one to five people that can stay in each room. It's one of the oldest hotels in Deadwood. Legends Steakhouse is the best restaurant in the area. There is a cool bar in the basement where anyone can visit. They used to have a Babe Ruth suite in #402. So many famous people have visited this hotel. Willie Nelson, political politicians, old singers, actors, Kennedy stayed here. Teddy Roosevelt gave a speech from the balcony. :) It's DEFINITELY worth visiting!!!
It's very convenient to all of the attractions in Deadwood.
They have the newest slot machines and if you are a gambler, this would be the place to go. My friend won ~100k on one of their giveaways. Get a player card and use the bonuses and you can use them over the course of a year. You can also walk anywhere in Deadwood from here. They have a great bar and you can meet famous people during busy times.
The owner owns the Silverado and other casinos in Deadwood. He has spent millions of dollars in Deadwood just like Kevin Costner. Keeping the area alive.
Despite the hotel being haunted, it's a very historic place to stay. Don't be worried - they have great customer service and it's not haunted.
Big and Rich was a partner in Deadwood mountain Grand and it's not even as big as this casino.
If I was in Deadwood, I would highly recommend staying here. You can get historic pictures and see gun fights in the street.
If you are heading here for the bike rally, make sure to book in advance because they are very busy during this time.
They do not have the clawfoot bathtubs anymore, nor hot tubs. They have walk in showers so if that is an issue, make sure you ask before you book a room.
There are several suites in the hotel but none have a view.
This is a big time hotel in Deadwood. Definitely visit when you come here.”
“I loved this place. Just a warning that water is scalding hot and could easily burn and don't plan on the pull out couch for a bed. It was terrible. It was very quiet except for street noise in the morning. We will definitely stay here again.Walkability: Very easy walk to main street and breakfast right across the street”
“We love Deadwood and have had many great times at the Grand. Two awesome shows at the event venue. But the service at the main bar sucks. Almost always. Understaffed with folks that really don't want to be working there. Too bad, because the food is good.”
