About Helpline Center
The Helpline Center began serving South Dakota in 1974. Through the years, the agency has grown to 24 hour/7 days a week service. The Helpline Center serves thousands of people every year by connecting individuals to resources and support, providing referrals, connecting people with volunteer opportunities, offering hope to individuals with thoughts of suicide and supporting families bereaved by a suicide loss. The mission of the Helpline Center is making lives better by giving support, offering hope and creating connections all day, every day. They fulfill their mission through the following core service areas: 211 Helpline, Suicide & Crisis Support and Volunteer Connections. Reviewers praise the Helpline Center's exceptional service, with one individual highlighting the honesty and care of a specific counselor named Mike Falconer. Others mention the Helpline Center's responsiveness, ability to find answers, and their willingness to go above and beyond, such as providing volunteer assistance for storm cleanup without prior request. The Helpline Center is described as the "next best thing to Ghost Busters" for their dedicated and impactful work in the community.
