Bomgaars is a family-owned retail establishment serving farm, ranch, and suburban customers in Yankton, South Dakota. It offers a comprehensive range of products including farm equipment, agricultural supplies, workwear, footwear, hardware, automotive parts, tools, and lawn and garden equipment. Many customers find it a very friendly and helpful place to shop with a great selection at decent prices. It is considered an asset to Yankton, with a good selection of clothing and brands that seem unique to the store. It is geared towards blue-collar clientele, carrying items like non-slip work shoes, jerky, and tools. Customers appreciate the helpful service employees and clearance finds.
However, some experiences note that the younger generation of employees is not very helpful, often seeming more interested in visiting with each other than assisting customers or checking them out. This has led to frustration, with some customers choosing to shop elsewhere where service is more attentive. The older employees are acknowledged as being very helpful, but they are not always available. The store has a wide inventory, and it is rare if they do not have an item, but the consistency of customer service can vary.
Employees are very nice and I love the sales when it comes to the clothing.

They always have what we are looking for at a reasonable price. I always try to make sure Kris is working because she is very helpful and knowledgeable and probably deserves a nice raise!
